God bless the 1500...Moderators: PonyPride, SmooPower Re: God bless the 1500...
I'm the same way ie distance, but I extend that 1500 to include those that lived on game threads, talked the program in the offseason, or watched religiously via all access. You were here
Re: God bless the 1500...
Ha, everyone knows about that post. Has nothing to do w this thread. I've admitted I was wrong a billion times over, especially after I saw the assistant hires. I was there then, I'm here now. Where we're you, front runner? The reality is the brown hire still rests on Jank, who I don't love, unless brown goes on till he's 80
Re: God bless the 1500...Unfortunately the "bandwagon effect" and "fan snobbery" both inevitably rear their ugly heads when any team shows significant improvement. I think these are problems we'd prefer to live with than without because this board was a dead zone (much like our basketball games) when I graduated and is far more lively nowadays, for better or for worse.
Ignore the good problems and move on. There's a lot more to be excited about these days.
Re: God bless the 1500...i'm sure i have been to way more smu games than you hoop.
i bailed on doh. not trying to hide anything. it was obvious very early on that he was in way over his head. i suffer with football. even go to a lot of away games. until june we were awful for about 20 years but i was there game in, game out. only so much losing one can take so i ditched doh. i'm back now like a lot of other people i know. people are excited about smu basketball for the first time in many years. dement had some fun squads but we never got over the hump. the loss yesterday was devastating to most of us. we are ready for a winner and it feels like a typical smu meltdown may be starting. i hope not.
Re: God bless the 1500...
I've only been a fan of SMU in general since the mid-2000s (when I started school) and even I've seen my share of these. I can only imagine the shudder that goes through a lot of the long-timers when this fear enters their minds... That said, I think this is just another hiccup. All signs are still clearly pointing up.
Re: God bless the 1500...
I hear you and agree, but I hold a special place in my heart for those in Dallas that continued to attend when at times you could hear their private conversations in the stands over the radio due to the lack of people. All those who believe in psycho kinesis, raise my hand
Re: God bless the 1500...if you watched the infamous UAB game on firstrowsports, then you are part of the 1,500.
NEVER FORGET USC UPSTATE "smupony94: Harry, you have been promoted to purveyor of official status capabilities."
Re: God bless the 1500...if you will go back in history you will see that i coined the pharse "the 1500." it was either here or mustangmaniacs. can't remember.
Re: God bless the 1500...
Welcome back? At least you're being honest about not being here, quitting on the program, and now front running. It's all good, we need fans. I just hate having to listen to all these Johnny come latelies wax poetic about their team, pretending to know hoops/recruiting, it makes it a tough read. Either way, it's a me problem, and I've remained pretty quiet this season, but just couldn't take it anymore. This will be my last thread about it.
Re: God bless the 1500...In all fairness I think you have quit and come back the next day more than anyone hoopmanx lol!
Re: God bless the 1500...
Ha, that's cause I bleed it. Losing kills me. I never actually go anywhere though. I've posted less this season than any in the past 15 years.
Re: God bless the 1500...i love your posts hoop. always have. you certainly know a lot more about bball than i do. keep posting.
Re: God bless the 1500...
Thx man. I'm not going anywhere, just had to vent. I hate smu's front running nature, just bugs me to no end, couldn't take it anymore
Re: God bless the 1500...
That game still haunts me...
