Re: Looks like it could be Duke vs SMU for D. J. HoggDamn, I played this kid back in my middle school days and it's hard to believe that he's a big time recruit now. It did not occur to me back then that he was a good 4-5 years younger than me with his given height and everything. Hope does seriously consider SMU, especially since 2015 will be a good year.

Re: Looks like it could be Duke vs SMU for D. J. Hogg
Ok, now you really lost me. Our kids AVERAGE a 1300 SAT. Michigan has an enrollment of, what, 30,000? How can that AT ALL be anywhere near "selective"? Also, Michigan is in, well, Michigan. Just like The Ohio State is in, well, Ohio. You're killing me with these comparisons you make.
Re: Looks like it could be Duke vs SMU for D. J. Hogg
I am sorry to break it to you, but Michigan is #28 in the country. We are not in the top 50. Hopefully one day we can surpass them, but you are wrong.
Re: Looks like it could be Duke vs SMU for D. J. HoggSMU has to get a Med School to even be in the same hemisphere...our science program sux
Re: Looks like it could be Duke vs SMU for D. J. Hogg
#28 in what? What exactly am I wrong about? That my opinion that SMU is better than Michigan? There are a lot of different metrics. I'd rather be at SMU in Dallas.
Re: Looks like it could be Duke vs SMU for D. J. Hogg
I think Ojai is lost. http://colleges.usnews.rankingsandrevie ... ities/data Michigan has a 36% acceptance rate dude putting it among the most selective in the country. I feel like you get lost in your own house...is it not possible a school has 5X as many applicants therefore the school then has a larger enrollment even though it may be more selective? The funny thing is you're arguing with me as if I like Michigan at all. You're killing me with your lack of logic. I'd rather be at Stanford in Palo Alto than Michigan in Ann Arbor or SMU in Dallas, I don't know what that comment has to do with the academic profile. ![]() EDIT: And yes, scUMbags also average over a 1300 SAT if that's your barometer on the situation. Well over 1300. Last edited by OhioBrownFan on Mon Feb 24, 2014 3:11 am, edited 3 times in total.
Re: Looks like it could be Duke vs SMU for D. J. Hogg
That's cool, always interesting looking back at what kids turned out to be. Was it organized or you mean like just pick-up ball or something?
Re: Looks like it could be Duke vs SMU for D. J. Hogg
It was just pick-up; don't think the kid was into much organization at 7 or 8 years old ![]() OT: but only other guy worth mentioning that I played competitively against was Deion Jr. who just so happens is at SMU "And as long as they're keeping score, there will always be people who try to do everything they can to put up more points than the other guy." -Brent Musberger

Re: Looks like it could be Duke vs SMU for D. J. HoggI've experienced both fan bases at Ohio St and Michigan. Ohio St has to have the worst fans in the country..sorry OBF. I literally felt for my life in Columbus when I was at the Texas/Oh St game in 2005.
Michigan folks couldn't have been nicer and easier to talk to. Ohio St is just a bunch of meatheads wearing jerseys and a parade of ugly women spitting on you
Re: Looks like it could be Duke vs SMU for D. J. HoggSMU is going after a much different prospective student than OSU or UM. Not saying it is better or worse as both of those schools are great schools. We just attract and recruit a much different prospective student.
Back off Warchild seriously.
Re: Looks like it could be Duke vs SMU for D. J. Hogg
US News and World Report, which is has the most widespread acceptance in terms of ranking universities.
Re: Looks like it could be Duke vs SMU for D. J. Hogg
Oh no freaking doubt. Michigan fans are pretty tame. And I feel for you at that game. I would hate to walk into Columbus as an opposing fan. Only place worse in the country is probably either LSU or Penn State from what I've experienced. Both those fan bases are awful. That's funny though, too bad I didn't know you back then, would've showed you a good time and kept you out of the fire ha.
Re: Looks like it could be Duke vs SMU for D. J. HoggI can't imagine any fans being worse than Texas Tech. Stupid drunk rednecks with inferiority complexes b/c they couldn't get into a real school.
Back off Warchild seriously.
Re: Looks like it could be Duke vs SMU for D. J. HoggBest: ECU
Worst: Texas Tech Surprising Worst Runner Up: U.S. Naval Academy
Re: Looks like it could be Duke vs SMU for D. J. HoggOBF (and others), I would much rather be in Dallas at SMU than Michigan. That's my whole point. I wouldn't want to be 1 out of 30,000 people in the middle of the midwest. So, FOR ME, SMU is a much better option than Michigan. My opinion. Has the best of all worlds: (1) small, but large access to great job markets; (2) great academics; (3) beautiful campus; (4) great location; (5) some of the hottest women in the country; (6) and NOW a great basketball program.
I've spent quite a bit of time in Silicon Valley. I like Stanford a lot, but I prefer Dallas to San Jose (and I'm a Cali guy). No location is better than Pepperdine but I still like SMU better. ![]() I can't quite figure you out OBF. You come on here and say how we're inferior to other schools, how we play poorly, how Ohio State has better chances with recruits we're going after, and then claim to be an SMU fan. This is my alma mater and this is why I post here. Where exactly did you go to school? My defense of my alma mater is extremely logical. Your posting here is not.
