First time he came back he re-injured. Perhaps just playing it safe?

I saw Yanick play a couple of times @ South Plains. He was knocking down 3's, running the floor, blocking shots. I was a little disappointed in what I saw from him when he was healthy, but he was making a transition from a 4 in JC to more of a 5 @ SMU. I thought he was playing soft. Having said that, I'm a big Yanick fan.
I'm very surprised the team has performed so well without him. I hope he has a great off season rehabbing & comes back a beast next year. If they get any positive production @ this point in the season, its just a huge plus. Having 2 knee surgeries myself, I can relate to the lack of explosiveness, the mental part that goes with having a knee injury. I just don't see him making an impact against Louisville or Memphis, or the tournament. Hope I'm wrong.

He's looked a lot better the last 2 games in limited action. Quicker and not tentative. LB was just holding him back, no need to play him vs. UCF. My guess is that he gets PT early and then the rest is just based on how he performs vs. UL. If 100% healthy he shores up one of our only two weaknesses.

Fify. We weakness on offense like dependable outside shooting from more than one person.

My other weakness would be guard depth... i guess you could divide that into "a shooter" and "a ball handler." We'll get one of those next year. Hopefully Keith becomes the other.

Agreed, UCF outrebounded us and there is no way they should happen. We are giving up way too many offensive rebounds and not getting enough second attempts ourselves. I think his injury must be more serious though.

A matter of determination and focus. Every time the ball goes up, put a body on the nearest guy. MK does it but not consistently. Not many others do it. Need Yanick for his rim defense and rebounding ... especially rebounding.

Especially playing man-to-man there is no excuses like you have in a zone defense where you have to find a man after each shot.
