Today. Louisville will run roughshod over the coogs tomorrow, after they finish destroying Rutgers here in a bit.

I did find another article with comments on the last drive. Please see the DMN article dated 10/22/1989 named "95 - 21 : UH routs records, SMU - Cougars' big numbers include 1,021 yards against irked Mustangs" by Darryl Richards. I can't link to it because I found it in the DMN Archives on the library website which is password protected.

From the article: "The Cougars had the ball for the final 2:52 and got as far as the SMU 17. Houston let the final 17 seconds elapse without running a play as the crowd clapped and begged for the Cougars to score 100. The Cougars started playing their second- and third-string defense as early as the second quarter and never blitzed."

So again, be POed if you want, but know the facts.

Good game. Good regular season for SMU. If you're only going to win 1 out of 3 games against your opponent, now is the time to do it.

We'd take your season and program at this point over this 1 win any day.

Really hate to lose to you guys, but I'm gonna tell myself that this is good for the rivalry. We need to continue to build this in state rivalry regardless of what conference we're competing in

If Coog basketball catches up to SMU, and SMU and Houston both continue to elevate football (SMU needs to catch Hou first) We might be on to something with this rivalry going forward.

Louisville/Rutgers game was awfully close to the score mentioned.

So, you're saying it's the Cougar fans who have no class?

I'm sure that the ACC will be happy to have Louisville. On the other hand I'm thinking the Big 10 might want to return Rutgers for store credit.

LOL @ 95-21, how about 34-0? Much fresher.
