Kennedy NOT eligible as of yet per LB

Nowhere in the story does it say he won't be eligible, it says he still has work to do to become eligible. I'm confident the staff, tutors and MK will do whatever is needed to make sure that happens.

I would think it is based on that SMU can not afford any more disappointment with the fan base...

Hoopmanx said that he was not eligible all summer but now somehow LA thinks the he will be eligible in 3 weeks. Surely he is not basing that on blind faith.

To be fair, I've heard he's mostly been ineligible since end of second semester last year. Heard he was ineligible all summer and that they needed to get a failing grade changed to an incomplete to make it even close. THey did that, I'm told, but he keeps coming up short.

The fact that they came public w/it is just b/c they couldn't hide it anymore. They would have loved for it to be a secret until the last possible moment, so they can work it behind the scenes. Now their is a public glare which will make it tougher. unless he actually performs in class, which he's never done

True every year there are some kids (even at major programs) that can't stay eligible. Of course the really top programs have enough depth to compensate and also make sure that star players no matter what stay eligible. If SMU is serious they are charting a way to get Kennedy eligible and having him live 24-7 with his tutors to get him there before the tip off game against Lamar.

I am a bit surprised that this happened as Markus did make it through his transfer year without an issue.

Also have to add, how typical SMU is this, seriously. I'm a newer alumni and I didn't buy into the doom and gloom of other pony fans but seriously it seems we are just not allowed to have nice things.
