Will I do it if we stay relevant absolutely - what I won't do is pay a separate donation for Football on 4 - 50 yard line seats I've had for 7 years even if they hire Jesus Christ himself

Is that because you are a OneTrickPony?

I can't imagine they raise the prices like they did last year, I'm also shocked at the passiveness towards it on the board. Interesting fan base to say the least. And that's not a shot at the fans, love all you guys and the support your giving the team, they certainly deserve it.

Fans help a program sustain success. Don't need the fan base bailing on the bball team the first losing or non-postseason appearance they make because tickets are ridiculous and they can buy half court seats for 10 bucks a piece again.

The fans on here are the exception to the general rule. People on here are going to show up regardless, the rest of the fan base is the worry. Hell, you guys all go to football games and how many show up for those games? I'm guessing about the same number of people that post on here.

I believe it's, 2,500 for the right to each seat, plus the cost of the ticket and then the donation level to sit in that section.

indeed. When LB is gone, who knows what happens. The prices shot up quickly and they can only hope there is winning for yrs to come - should have been more gradual and they are making up rules as they go..

That's true of every program. If we suck, prices go back down

This is all based on supply and demand. Supply stayed constant, demand was measured by the donation rush last year from people trying to get their foot in the door. If this is their move, they have plenty of data to support it.

Yeah, to what they were last year. They tried to screw the students and they all stuck the middle finger up at them...not to mention the football team is absolutely awful and they have by far the most expensive student tix in the country.

That's a really bad model fwiw. You never want to have to lower prices and you'll VERY RARELY ever see a professional sports team do it, which is also why they are the best at what they do. You want to raise them with inflation ideally + kick in an extra 2-3% for a really great year to get to about a maximum of a 5% increase, that also assumes that the prices weren't starting at essentially nothing to get in which they were. If anyone owns premium season tickets for the Mavs where they've signed a 3-5 year contract on those seats, you'll probably recall where the team cannot raise the prices on you more than 5% in a season or something like that even if they raise the others by 7%.

The mavricks lowered ticket prices recently. When you have a supply that is not being met (all tickets sold to every game with a waiting list) you want to hit that magic number that maximizes revanue while selling out (which helps you be more competative). The big question mark will be if we can generate enough success that the next coach can recruit to SMU for SMU. So far every recruit we land has talked about the oppertunity to be playing for LB not about playing for SMU. Hopefully we stock the cupboard, and our coach in waiting can maintain the success and recruiting. Hate to say it but we all know LB has a limited shelf life.
