I am looking forward to fifty's explanation of why Houston is the philly of the south. I do not get it either.

re: Philly

Good grief. A guy makes a throwaway comment and you guys jump him. He's likely never even been to Philly. Philly fans have a bad rep (well deserved) so he decided to make a joke. Drop it.

re: F U SMU

I agree it's a generational thing. Have any of you been to a concert in the past 20 years? That's they way the college crowd calls for an encore for goodness sake.

I can kind of understand "Robert F'in Keen" chants, as that's his demographic to some extent...
but "George F'in Strait" just seemed... bizarre.

Yea I tend to agree. The whole FU SMU is real low IQ though, we don't do that

oh my gosh ... a bad word

Who cares, that chant isn't embarassing. Embarrassing is legit, nasty personal stuff / starting fights etc...

Their student section just looked embarrassing anyway, before they opened their mouths.

If the conference bracket was formed on the current standings then we would not. 1, 2, and 3 seeds get a first round bye.

Here's the format.

How dare you compare Philly, the nation's most historically significant city, to that armpit that is Houston. Houston is a sprawling, no zoning, humid, high crime mess. Philly is a beautiful city (with hardcore fans).

Our students yelled p****y at the Cincy player. Love how you all are complaining about profanities from UH. You all sound like a bunch of old grandmas.

Simple. SMU Students are freedom fighters. UH Students are terrorists.

P.S. I generally hate this analogy in other contexts, but I kind of like it in this one.

Meh. It's college BB. It *should* be rowdier than the NBA.

The fact that the high school students down there at Slurpee Tech aren't very good at it isn't that surprising either.

Please, this is neither below us nor generational. I recall F U U T echoing across the football stadium in Austin back in the 80's--maybe we originated it for all we know.
