In college players leave, if we don't get a big this year I think we will be ok based on what we have but you have to believe that bugs would be a huge priority for the 2016 class.
I was talking to Hoopmanx. But I agree that we will be okay next year but when MK and Tolbert leave after next year we need to have some good tall bigs coming into the program .

I 'd love for us to find a seven foot shot re-arranger but the core is great. MK AND Tolbert will be great on the boards.plus The Bens and Sterling will be a year stronger, better, smarter. Then there is Semi. Can you say " flying circus?"

no i agree and personally, I think we will be better next year. We might have a worse record because they will be integrating new players that you expect things out of, but people are not giving credit to sed and shake and how good of recruits they are. It will be nice to have 4-5 players on the floor that are a threat to score any time they touch the ball.

although we might be more of a perimeter threat next year-I doubt Larry changes his philosophy of attacking the basket and looking for good shots down low -much.

we will absolutely continue to focus on points in the paint and FTs but it will be nice to have more perimeter shooting threats to help spread the floor and keep teams from packing it in down low against us.

Who is not giving credit to the new recruits? I think everyone's knows SMU will be better at the guard spots but the question will SMU be better in the post positions especially if MK leaves.

Just a couple of points I don't see anyone making about next year's team.
Semi can do it all. He hits 3 pointers, he slams, he rebounds, he passes and he is as good in the classroom as he is on the floor. He is also about 6'8". Remember, he averaged 30 pts per game his senior year in high school.
Have any of you watched Tolbert shooting 3's at Moody just prior to player intros?? I know he is just shooting with no defenders, but he hits 9 or 10 in a row and then does it again. That is not his main attribute. At TT he was 2nd on their team in rebounding and the word is that he is a relentless rebounder. He was also their second leading scorer. He is tough under the boards.
Added to Sterling, Ben M, Nic M, hopefully MK, and our guard recruits, we should be a dynamite team. As some have said. What a nice present if Keith comes back.
If you can add one or two 6'10" guys, all the better, but we could go with the above mix and do as well or better next year.

Nic is the most fun athlete at SMU I've ever seen. When he finished at SMU in another year he will be one of the most most heralded athletes ever at SMU. Why would anyone transfer from that?

Wow. For some reason i had it in my head that Semi was 6'5"-6'6".
6'8"? I love it.
It's March 2016. Our freshmen have a regular season under their belt. Semi has a half season.
Nic needs a rest and we want to go bigger and longer. The five on the floor are Shake, Sterling, Semi, Ben and either Markus or Jordan. You gotta love it.

Post season ban is the only reason he would transfer, but a lot of posters on here have assured us that the punishment is one scholarship and Maligi is gone. Do have this correct?

Most everyone is well aware of their heights and background. When they transferred to SMU there were thorough scouting reports given. No one said that SMU would be flaps next year. Semi's preference is being a face up player not a back to the back player so we wil see how he works out in Coach Brown's system. Remember a lot of people thought Ben E. And JMart would just come in and be superstars and that did not happen. I think we should wait and see before we say this team will be better than this years or not. They might be or they might not be but it will have a somewhat different dynamic to it.

i think we need to find a 6-10 or better quickly or it is going to be tough. Even the stiffs UCLA had gave us issues - and that is with pretty tall post guys (that are seniors)
