I disagree. Basketball has made tremendous strides, the kind of which have not been seen in the past 25 years. Look at the progress. We had such a large jump between years one and two of Brown's era that maybe we expected too much too soon. But look at what we have done. Better every year. A solid base being built. Reputation being formed.

I do not want a team that will fall off the map when Brown leaves. I do not want a flash in the pan like Jones did in football. I really believe Brown is establishing something we have not had in many years, if ever at SMU.

Seriously? What on God's green earth to you base a statement like this on?

The good news for many of you, is if Larry Brown is hired, I'm done. Tired of being a joke, and that hire is a farce. Great coach, but a horrible idea to build a program long-term. He'll quit a year into the Big East and we'll be sitting here again, in no better a position

I really don't know if I can subject my kids to SMU Fandom. Since I Suu for on campus in 2001 it had been continual disappointment. You want to associate yourself work winners in life - friends, business associations. Why am I attached to a perpetual loser in sports?

Maybe the better question is why do you disagree?

As long as you don't let them root for the Cubs, they'll be fine.

We really don't want to know what he has alluded to. He will simply say he knows things that SMU has done wrong, or knows that
what the NCAA is sniffing at are serious problems. At least that is my take. And I sure as hell don't want to hear that here.

If he is going to hint at knowing these things, I really think most of us would rather he take it elsewhere... And quit baiting us here!

Couldn't agree more. The commitment from the school is there and the facilities are there. We waited years on those two pieces of the puzzle and they finally arrived.

Hell, forget baiting readers here. No one who purports to be an SMU fan should do all the alluding he does, here or anywhere.

If I recall, a couple of years ago the "fans of SMU" group in the tourney pickem was in the low hundreds, if even one hundred.

This year it is in the thousands.
