Okay 5 or 6 thousand season ticket holders. Whatever it is we are sold out of season tickets. To complain about students at an open practice which was marketed to mostly season ticket holders imo is somewhat over the top. Kind of like complaining about why 500 students out of a student body of only 6000 don't show up for a football game when about 15 or 20 adult fans don't show up. But that is fine not worried about practice attendance.

The time of the practice made it difficult for many working people to get there.

Good excuse. But either way not worried about practice attendance from students or non student fans.

this Friday we could probably move the crowd inside Moody and have Indoor Football

that 18,000 reported attendance last weekend was ballsy

It actually is a legit reason many couldn't make it. Still waiting on a legit excuse why student didn't show. It's only practice does not fly. And please explain how it was mostly only marketed to season ticket holders? The notice was emailed out, tweeted out and communicated around campus. Why weren't MOB members given points for attending? BTW, I thought the non-student turnout was decent given the time.

Let's get worked up about a meaningless practice on a late afternoon on a Monday.
Dear lord, get a grip people.

The students give support to the team even putting up tents during the season to spend the night to get tickets and we in here talking bout practice. Not a game, not a game but practice.

serious question... on the pay sites, do you still have to wade through this much whining about attendance to get to actual insightful information?

My bad for bringing up the fact that practically no students showed up to an event put on by the basketball program where they staffed concessions, introduced all the players and had our head coach address the crowd. I guess it's not a big deal, or worthy of discussion. just ignore it and carry on....

There were easily over 100 people in the stands at any given time, and lots came and went over the 2hrs. Also, we have less than 3,000 individual season ticket accounts.

if you want students at a practice, have it at night and turn on the beer tabs. Not that hard an equation.

Would be nice next year if we put a bit more planning into this. Make this a party/practice. We are SMU afterall, its one of the things we do really, really well.
