Meh, coach about to be fired, coming back to his Alma mater that could care less for hoops. SMU will continue to dominate TCU in the court. Let's focus on our football program and start beating them there too.

We see Pitt very early next season at the 2K at the Garden. It will be someone's third or fourth game as Pitt coach. I wonder if some of the current roster bails.

We'll let you focus on that. I'm still not sure why you post on the basketball forum? You've mentioned several times that basketball doesn't matter. As for TCU, do you mean they couldn't care less about hoops?? If so, you're telling us they just spent $90 million to renovate their arena and now they're paying their HC north of $3 million per but they don't care about the sport?

Before Howland and Dixon showed up, Pitt had about as much success as SMU and TCU. And if you can win at Baylor and SMU, you can win at TCU.

Can you source that salary figure? FYI the whole "3.2 mil at Pitt" story was inclusive of a deferred payment he received as well as performance bonuses and his salary was $1.4 mil. Even if TCU doubled his salary that's $2.8 mil.

Thanks for the kind words, the hoops rivalry just got interesting. Rooting for Morris that was a good game last year. SMU is such a better rival than BU.

You're way too logical to be a frog fan.

My TCU friend texted me about the Dixon hire saying, "We just got our Larry Brown." You have to appreciate that Frog fans think this way about basketball given that we make the same comparisons in football between Morris and Patterson.

I find it amazing that anyone would ever put Larry Brown and Jamie Dixon in the same sentence

He's really not much worse than Dixon. Underwhelming, sure, but he's no worse a coach or basketball mind than his predecessor

SMU Football Blog wrote:Having grown up in FW and still having many friends and family there, TCU has had this weird view of its basketball program for ever. They seem to have this view the job is something that it isn't. It is a pretty good college coaching job. There are 351 division 1 HC jobs and TCU is better than somewhere between 250-300 of them. But it isn't a job people dream of having, nor is it a sleeping giant. TCU fans seem to think it is both (and they have for years and years).
Not sure who you hang out with but I don't know of any TCU folks who think TCU basketball coach is a dream job. Your comments are way off base as it relates to the vast majority of TCU fans. Also, Dixon has been to 11 tourneys in 13 seasons in the Big East/ACC. Comparing him with Trent Johnson is dumb.
