So? That does not change the fact that the football team sucks.

Yeah, Rice, Emory, and Vanderbilt (our benchmark academic schools) all have big problems with getting qualified students.
Eh, I'd say that we are still a tier down from those three in terms of name recognition on a nationwide basis. We're more like USC without the success in football.
Rice shouldn't even be compared to us, they only have 1 undergrad college and it has around 2,500 students in it.

Such a stupid thread. The money is being committed so there is nothing to discuss. Sorry McClown. NEXT subject other than the DMN. You'll never get it.
Again, with the Clown model, we'd be playing football in the Cotton Bowl and continue to play hoops in an outdated facility with space issues and logistical problems. We'd be doing great then. You are a genius.

Stallion, even you would have to admit there were a few good years after the Cotton Bowl. Maybe not Texas Stadium but we squeezed a few in after the Cotton Bowl.

and we wouldn't have the blvd for tailgating.
Man, could you imagine what a terrible experience it would be if we still
played at the cotton bowl every week.

The only thing that I miss about the Cotton Bowl was getting to play during the State Fair. The football tickets always got us in for free. I would be in favor of us playing TCU at the Cotton Bowl every year and making it part of of each schools season tickets.

I dunno, we might have needed that home field advantage (even though we were outnumbered) last year!
Personally I hated dealing with the Cotton Bowl parking during the Fair.
But the corny dogs made up for it.

Yes, Fair Park does have its share of parking problems (try parking at a UT-OU game!) but here's a solution:
SMU will soon have four parking garages on campus. They could contract DART to provide bus service to the Cotton Bowl from campus in a Park-and-Ride type deal. SMU could also theoretically utilize Mockingbird Station for this plan. There would be buses going between campus and Fair Park all day, and those with tickets to the game (or stubs on their way back) could ride at a discounted price.

If we are ever want to have a home field advantage, we have to play all of our home games at Ford--particularly the games local people might go to.
Willis to slot receiver!

Good idea, but I am spoiled and want my car there.
Especially if it was like the game 2 years ago....44-0, what
a miserable drive home that was. Hope the froggies had just
as bad a drive last year.
The only thing I can think would be worse is being stuck
on a bus with half of the people saying its okay we
will get them next year and the other half
saying the world is coming to an end.
