We won! Nice win - glad to see the team finally pull one out. They needed that.

Wow! That Papa Dia line was amazing 0-1 from the field, 0-0 FTs, 0 points and 5 rebounds, 1 block.

WTF is wrong with him?

GREAT GAME! I was so glad to see Bamba score the game winning FTs and go out with a win.

Will definitely take it, though really felt like it would end up like they usually do. Bamba was huge at the line and really glad that he got the W in his last home game. Good for him. We still shoot way too many 3's and like clockwork, seem to lose all confidence with 10 minutes to go, but like Rice, good to know that we can hold on for some of these.

Nice win for the Ponies and let's keep it going at Houston and into the tourney.

Unbelievable..........From the 10 minute mark until the 4 minute mark of the first half, we took 3 point shots on every possession - at one point we shot 3's on 6 straight possession - except 3 times and very seldom did the ball ever go inside the 3 point line. As usual, we were hitting them and I thought to myself, here we go again. We were playing a bunch of munchkins from Oz yet we seldom attacked them in the paint.......

So, I was not surprised that we did our usual swoon in the second half. We finally got lucky - against a beaten down team of munchkins who once again figured they could reel us in, and they damn near did. We don't have a very smart coach and guess what? Our team doesn't play smart. Go figure............

By the way, why did we honor Bamba before the game when we had maybe 500 people in the stands????? Come on Orsini, you know what few fans we have never show up early. Honor Bamba at halftime when the entire 1500 fans are there..........We suck at every facet of the game presentation...................

Well said & I agree 100%. Nice game for Faye & I thought Williams did a good job of taking care of the rock. How does Southern Miss have 14 wins this year? Great to get a W

Just back from the game, a shame it ended up being a nail biter, but there were many positives.

Funny, looking at the stats, it was a solid game for the Ponies...Shot 50 percent for the night, 37.5 from 3 point range, 72 percent from the free throw line, and had a 9 rebound edge..AND all of that with just 12 turnovers....Looking at that line, hard to believe that we somehow gave up a 14 point half time lead...but we stepped up late.

First off Bamba was huge, 16 points, 8 boards, and he continually nails the pressure free throws......both his FTs to untie the game with under a minute to go were nothing but net. Faye is really coming on too, his size and arm length is something to see, he looks really close to Bamba in wingspan, yet he can handle the ball pretty well, and shoot the three...Nice to see him rebounding so well and going inside more.

Another off night for McCoy, Williams did step up and hit a big shot down the stretch and had 14 points...nice to win one when our best scorer is off.

SMU ran a nice offense tonight, they got some easy baskets and ran some nice sets...mostly to Faye on back cuts and even an alley oop...had two other back doors as well. Two easy baskets on nice inbound plays as well under the basket.

I really am not critical of SMU shooting the 3.....almost all of the looks were wide open...you need to take those and nail em without hesitation when they are given to you. THat is what good teams do.

As for the General's question about Otis...USM could have held for the last shot, so he was in there for defense and got the key board under heavy pressure when USM decided to launch one with 8 seconds to go....too bad he couldnt get rid of it before he was hacked...and of course he clanked a couple off the backboard to set up another heart attack finish, was hoping he woulda got one at least.

Overall, good win.....lets keep it rolling!

We have the art of choking, down to a science. But, I am very happy, to have left Moody a winner!

I saw a guy last night who looks very distracted. At one point, he was standing in the paint sort of staring into emptiness when the USM guard blew past him for an easy layup. Realizing what had happened a split second late, he started to trot back to the offensive end of the floor and was wincing and looking under his eyebrows back at the bench knowing that Doh was going to yell at him. He just didn't seem to be there.

Is Doh so much in these guys shorts that they can't use even basic basketball instincts or is this just a Dia problem? Whatever the case, it's a shame. I hope Papa can pull it back together in the time he has remaining here on the Hilltop. He's certainly got the size and talent.
