Vilde threw the ball away a few times and looks a little lost and Doh pulled. him rightfully so...Losh is TOTALLY out of it. He looks scared out there. Cunningham is coming in to his own in the paint and is finishing much better----God win against a athletic team though. Baby steps.

Just back from the game, glad to get a win, Georgia Southern looked like a pretty decent team and they have played some tough teams early on pretty close, so I see this a pretty good win.

Cunningham looked great, he is big and athletic with a nice touch, plus he plays above the rim. He definitely needs more minutes. Two clutch free throws at the end as well.

Cotton had a nice three ball going, good to see him get in a good groove.

Jones was looking athletic, but he still takes poor shots and makes poor decisions, props to Doh for keeping him on the bench down the stretch.

Not a good game for Rob, but a nice milestone, good to win when he is off.

Looking forward to building on this win.
Probaly won't happen...BUT...maybe it will!!

I just saw the box score but I don't really know much about the game (I was putting up Christmas lights).

Just glad they won.

We get a week off before UALR.. Hopefully we can get a win up there before the 11-day break for finals. It would be nice to build some momentum heading into our AAC matchup with Ok St

Georgia Southern at 2 PM Sunday

I tried to focus on losh today, especially on defense. He fights hard and seems to be in the right place. On offense, he had a couple of nice assists on swing passes and a couple more nice passes that led to open 3's that were missed. Clearly does not have confidence in his shot. Took it to the basket once which I liked, was strongly rejected which i didn't.

Cunningham was great and has huge upside. He is functional at the 5, but really needs to play the 4 on a decent team. Vilde is struggling but i don't understand zero minutes in the second half for him. Manual not playing in the second half is just wrong too. He won the Florida Golf Course game for Doh, perhaps saving his job, and then a week later he can't get a minute in the second half? Speaking of the second half, why would JFrog, Losh and Clinkscales EVER be on the floor at the same time? Doh continues with this baffling stuff year after year. Losh and Clink probably should not get any minutes at this point. JFrog minutes need to be cut back like others have said. Nyuk probably needs to give up minutes to Jalen Jones too.

I agree w/everything you said. There are guys eating major minutes that have played themselves out of the rotation. You can't sit Manuel like this, when he should be surging after both the Gulf Coast game & ORU. He's a prototype sized/skill PG, which is a bigger deal than adhering to strict princeton rules. Ball Screen Motion, let him work and distribute. He'll find shooters or get to the rack. It's seriously maddening.

Based on minutes so far, and provided Leslee & Shawne are fixtures in the 8 deep, Vilde & Manuel will sit next month and not resurface. That's unacceptable. IF Doh wants to prove that he's trying to build a big time program, you have to prep Manuel, and let Vilde get comfortable. The Frog love affair is old. Good little player, but should a be a role kid. I'm sure he'll prove very valuable, especially when we face the Cezar Guerrero's of the world. That doesn't make him a starter or someone you build around. The barbershops are killing us for this Frog/Manuel crap, and they are right

Georgia Southern at 2 PM Sunday

I am just happy to hear that the barbershops are paying attention. What else do they have to say? Are they coming to the games or just following on the radio?

Frog had 7 assists and 2 turnovers, one of which was when he tried to save a ball that was going out of bounds last touched by another SMU player and threw it wildly while flying out of bounds. I would like to see more manuel too, but frog is not disappearing with those A/TO numbers.

I think Vilde didn't play the 2nd half because Doh was riding the hot hand. Cannen played a phenomenal game. It's also pretty clear why Manuel doesn't play over J-Frog...Frog just knows the offense better at this point. Maybe as time goes by and Manuel picks it up, he'll get more minutes. He brings a different dimension than Frog for sure. Jalen will be good too, just needs a little coaching and discipline within the offense, he definitely forced up some shots today. Agree with you guys on Losh/Clinkscales, but they are seniors and Doh's gonna play them, thats just the way it goes. It's just good to see we are recruiting better players/athletes every year that we want to play over upperclassmen.

My guess is Doh is trying to shade the fact that this thing is in total rebuild mode right now in his sixth year on the job, which it is. People can accept that if he actually goes with it and commits to the newcomers. If they can play, and are giving great effort, that is fun to watch and gives hope for the future. I couldn't stand last year because it was a dead end. Papa was great, Mangrum came out of nowhere, Frog was nice but not a nucleus to build on. Sasser and Davis weren't great as freshmen but Dement gave them the keys and it worked to a point, until they ran the asylum. Give Manuel, Cunningham, Jones, and Smith the keys, Vilde and Williams ride shotgun and lets go. Giles is veteran leader. Frog gives energy minutes. Add Russell and the big coming next year and its on. I just hope Doh can manage his temperament and let the personality of the group come out.

Other than a nice A/TO ratio, he brings very little to the table, other than knowledge of the O. He's in a horrible shooting slump, is a gnat on ball defensively, but can't close out, or keep other guards out of the lane. Guys just shoot over him. I just don't think you can start a low ceiling kid, when you have a 6'4 PG on the bench that makes plays. When you are lucky enough to get that, ball screen motion all day. Frog doesn't put pressure on the defense, at least good defenses.

Barbershop guys only go to games they get comped tix

Agree with all of that. Even if manuel makes a mistake or two - he will more then make up with it elsewhere on the court and anyone can see that in about 2 minutes of watching him. A long armed point is a rare weapon and you have to use it like a club.

Vilde looked athletic - i hope they switch him to the 4 and put him and Cunningham out there together - that would be fun. would love to see a line up of manuel, giles, jones vilde and cunningham.

cunningham was just flat out exciting to watch. we have not had a guy like that in a long time - i think a better all around package then Papa

giles was really impressive also i thought - very calm performer - great looking shot.

losh can sit the rest of the year as far as i am concerned - saw all i need to see from him last year - he is suppose to deliver the 3 and tough D and does neither.

Frog is going to be a great reliever, change of temp guy who will bug the crap out of someones more polished player - we need to use him like a paid assassin.

Hoping smith and the other dude push clink and losh off the page and we have a team who can really compete and might even have an extended season....

I was @ the game yesterday. Here's my thoughts.

Thats probably an L against every CUSA & Big East team.
Because of the coaching, GS was able to stay in the game. The leash appears to be tight again, in addition to the yo yo sub patterns. The Manuel for D & Jfrog for offense @ the end of the 1st half is just ridiculous over coaching. Let the boys play!!
I agree that Manuel & Vilde should be getting more minutes.
I thought Giles played well. However, I would like to see him take the ball to the hole a few more times.
Probably the worst game I've seen RN play.
CC was outstanding.
Jalen did a very good job on the boards. Love his attitude. The kids a winner.

The young talent is exciting. Adding Williams & Smith next month is huge. The question is, can Doh manage the talent?

I saw a team that looks like an uptempo team that could avg 70 points per game. Instead, I saw a team that walks it up the court, even when fast break opportunities present themselves. I really can't remember any fast break points. 22 turnovers playing a slow down game is pretty bad.

Early in the season, but don't like the style of play I saw. Doesn't appear to be a fit for the talent IMO.

Love the young talent.
