Are you doing anything constructive to change that? You sound a tad disgruntled.

Just curious as to what you would suggest he do or what options would he have?

Are you suggesting that the whole floor be painted white, other than lines, the lane, etc? If so, I think that would look terrible. I get wanting a modern look, but just making most of the floor white does not strike me as modern or attractive.

About the only think I believe will happen is that whatever is on the court everyone will think it sucks.

Not my ideal choice either, but since we are unlikely to do anything truly groundbreaking let's at least do something different. UCF will get a lot of press over their black court - let's do white

UCF's black court was more a a theme from the outside blacktop courts kids play on in the playgrounds along with it being their school colors. Not sure what a white court theme would be. But I do see your point. Maybe a court with all school colors half red and half blue. Or something that has a theme to it.

I still like MustangStealth's work. I say stay somewhat traditional and let LB's squad get the attention, not a tricked up floor design.

Let's embed LED's in the floor and have it change color, flash, etc when play has stopped

Memphis Fans just selected new court design -- features city skyline. Can't figure out how to post photo so link follows. Story is below:

Tiger Fans Select Basketball Court Design
Floor will display Memphis City Skyline

June 27, 2013
MEMPHIS --In an unprecedented move away from the athletic department’s standard policies and procedures, Athletics Director Tom Bowen asked Memphis Tigers’ fans and supporters to select the design of the Tigers’ basketball court for the 2013-14 season. Four renderings were offered as possible choices, and the online voting far exceeded expectations.

“Tiger Nation has spoken,” Bowen said. “We thought that the voting process would be a great chance for our fans to offer their opinions as stakeholders in the Tigers’ basketball program, and they responded in massive numbers. It confirms the passion that Memphis fans have for their athletic programs at the University.”

The opportunity to vote on the floor design became an online success and drew national attention. Local television stations made the voting process a lead story on the evening news, and Tigers’ fans flocked to the site to cast their votes.

Given just 10-days to make a selection, Tigers fans logged on the Memphis website and cast 2,997 of the approximately 6,000 total votes for floor design #1, the city skyline/bridge option. Additionally, the Memphis floor will carry the new American Athletic Conference logo, as well as an enlarged leaping Tiger mark and social media marks.

Let's go full retro - I really do like this look (particularly the center circle with the M which is very cool, but I am 1950's man) - I know it would never ever fly, but it is more interesting than what we throw out now:

If I was them, I would not have included the total number of votes in the release.

SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

Well, if we can get as many fans as SMU had in that picture, it won't matter what the floor looks like. The godfather will get us there.
