Re: The Coach K OffensiveIf Coach K is so classy why did he bash the A10. He is no angel. He could have defended his conference without berating another conference. Josh Pastner said at the beginning of the year the he thought 6 AAC teams would make the tournament but he never berated another conference while saying this. Coach K got his 6 ACC teams in the tournament but his politicking and Wellman being the chairman cost us. It may have been unintended consequence but it cost us.

Re: The Coach K Offensive
This. He clearly lobbied to get NC State into the tourney. I know he was just trying to protect the image of the ACC, but NC State bumped SMU. We'll never really know if K's comments really cost SMU, but these fan responses have been PG at worse. Pony up!

Re: The Coach K OffensiveBut them man has only had one technical in his entire career. Talk about being untouchable.
UNC better keep that Ram away from Peruna
Re: The Coach K OffensiveDBB's post reminds me of the Paterno cult worship from PSU fans. Critical thinking goes out the window when it comes to their hero.
Re: The Coach K OffensiveI just stumbled upon this thread. Pure greatness! DBB, you've done done GREAT stuff in the past. Huge fan. But you're not going to win a "coach K is god" argument on here. I know you know that.
I respect get effort, but... Derail the Frogs!
Re: The Coach K OffensiveI've been one obsessively gloating over Duke's loss.
But let's be fair, I hated Duke before this year's selection show. Stallion doesn't think I'm a stinkin' genius anymore.
Re: The Coach K OffensiveDBB, I'll side with you, always liked Coach K. He did what he's supposed to for his fellow ACC coaches. Thad does it for the B10, Self does it for the B12. Duke is always a polarizing team and K's comments are under a microscope on this board because it may have kept out SMU and in reality, probably did have something to do with NC State getting in. It's certainly not K's fault that NC St got in but his comments definitely did not hurt their chances of getting in. People need an outlet with the jab that came at the AAC. I get that and you're just not going to find a lot of love on here right now. But I think most 99% of people, like/hate Coach K, got respect for his ability to coach. This is about his conference having a team get in the field that should not have been looking at the resume.
Re: The Coach K Offensive
So the only guy to side with DBB is an OSU fan who started a thread complaining about "my team" losing. Cool. This is ponyfans, not reacharoundsforcoachk.com or blowjobsforbuckeyes.net Coach K is a [deleted] BOP - Providing insensitivity training for a politically correct world since 1989.
Re: The Coach K Offensive
OBF: K, Matta, Self all need to shut up and coach. They are great coaches. They need to stick to that. The constant politicking of which conference is better than the other needs to be left to the pundits.
Re: The Coach K OffensiveYou made me laugh on that one blackout.
Re: The Coach K OffensiveDuke Class of '92, SMU lifetime fan here. Three things:
(1) The responses to this thread have been overwhelmingly thoughtful, and entertaining. (2) Wearing my Duke fan hat, I really want K to talk less about the ACC and prep more for Lehigh and Mercer. (3) Wearing my SMU fan hat, is something I will definitely be doing when SMU plays Duke. (4) I remember when K's first great team made the ncaa finals, losing to Louisville and Pervis. I remember when the ACC all collectively hated Carolina, not Duke. I remember when lots of America rooted for scrappy underdog Duke against might unlv in '91. My point is, I hope SMU enjoys a decades-long run of success like Duke has, and don't forget to enjoy the time on the rise--where SMU is just starting to be. It's the best part.
