Great news! Welcome to SMU Justin Martin! An experienced, upperclassman with proven talent who can help lead our team next year. Perfect fit. We are stacked! Sterling and Martin at the 3, that is quality depth. Which of the coaches do we have to thank for Justin Martin?

Fran just tweeted he wouldn't be surprised if Tolbert chooses not to apply for waiver and play next yr instead bc of the log jam.

I'm greedy. I want him to play NOW. Here's my take if he does: Mudiay Nic Martin Tolbert Kennedy OR Mudiay Nic Tolbert Kennedy Yanick backups: Sterling, Cannen, B. Moore, Manuel need another ball handler more than anything but damn . . . just . . . damn!

There literally aren't enough minutes for people...Here is how I now see it shaping out with the addition of Martin. PG: Mudiay 30, Moore 10 SG: Moore 20, Frazier 20 SF: Martin 20, Brown 20 PF: Kennedy 20, Moore 20 C: Kennedy 10, Cunningham 20, Moreira 10 I don't see any room for Tolbert this year and more importantly we now have a logjam at SG/SF. Where does Ryan Manuel fit into this? I can't see Nic Moore playing less than 30 mpg (32.2 last year), I can't see Keith Frazier not moving up to 20 mpg (14.8 mpg last year), I can't see Sterling Brown not getting 20 mpg (19.4 mpg last year) and Mudiay will definitely play 30 mpg. Martin played 28 mpg last season, so even asking him to cut that to 20 mpg, where does Manuel play?
I miss Troy Matthews.

Oh, and a second unit of Moore, Frazier, Brown, Moore and Cunningham is downright filthy.
I miss Troy Matthews.

We need another ball handler? No, we really don't. Mudiay will play 30 mpg as will Moore, most of the time on the floor together. And when one is resting, the other will be on the floor! If we ever come across a team with a press like Louisville, both Moore and Mudiay will be on the floor for nearly the entire game.
I miss Troy Matthews.

Who brings the ball up if the other team presses that group?
I really shouldn't drink and type.

I like how none of you have Brown or B. Moore starting. Those guys ate nails last year, in case you forgot.

And with a year of growth and improvement they will challenge for starter slots. Practices are going to be so intense you could sell tickets to their scrimmages.
