Other GamesModerators: PonyPride, SmooPower Re: Other GamesCan someone who pays more attention to me explain Myles Turner to me. I know we wanted him but is he a disappointment or learning the curve of college ball? I know that there was some talk of him being one and done, but it sure doesn't look like it.
Re: Other GamesHe has flashes of brilliance but Barnes isn't developing him
Re: Other Games
It's all about potential with him - 7 foot, huge wingspan, very good outside shooter, good passer and a very smart, coachable kid. His biggest downside is mobility. If he comes out this year, and I'm sure he will, he'll go in the 5-10 range. The top two picks are pretty much set - 1. Okafor 2. Eman. As 94 mentioned, he's probably not getting any coaching from Barnes. That will come in the NBA. I think he'll be a good player but probably not a star. SMU-12 NCAA appearances, 1 Final Four

Barnes develops no1. Pony up!
Re: Other GamesI have never understood why any player would want to play for Barnes.

Re: Other Games
He was the #2 recruit in the country that developed in the pros. Barnes develops no1. Pony up!
Re: Other GamesTJ ford? Great player in college.
Re: Other Games
He will get drafted in the first 3 picks as a prospect. He has a good shooting touch and the length to score inside. Not to mention he can block shots at this level and the next. He is the type of player that if he stayed in college for another year to develope a better post game and add some muscle weight so he can't get pushed around inside he would be an absolute beast. Instead he will take the money and maybe develop while sitting on the bench of an NBA team. Some players develop into superstars others are out of the league after the first contract.
Re: Other Games
Royal Ivey, Tristan Thompson, TJ Ford, LaMarcus Aldridge, DJ Augustin, Avery Bradley, Kd...alright
Re: Other Games
I seriously doubt he goes in the top 3 (or top 5) this year. I think he is a lottery pick though. "smupony94: Harry, you have been promoted to purveyor of official status capabilities."
Re: Other Games
slow clap...you can pull up high school rankings. Name one kid he took that was drafted much higher than his high school ranking. I never argued that Barnes doesn't recruit well. You just rattled off a list of highly ranked/recruited kids that Barnes didn't damage too badly. I'm not sure any coach in America has wasted more talent than Barnes. Not one. BTW, what are you still doing here? You quit SMU remember?? Pony up!
Re: Other Games
I think you're right. He's always had elite talent but I can't ever remember one of his teams exceeding, or even reaching expectations. And individually, I can't really remember a player leaving UT as a much better player than when they arrived. As for KD, he could've had me as his college HC and he'd still be leading the world in scoring, and one of the best players ever. SMU-12 NCAA appearances, 1 Final Four
