What the fecal SoCal? Man? "Do not deserve"? Do not deserve????? Wonderful, okay an SMU fan in Southern California can say at this point that the Mavs "do not deserve" to be the champs.... SoCal, I'm guessing your first name might be David and your last name might be Stern?

You know what? At this point the Mavs have totally screwed this whole thing up - sure you could say that the refs helped in game 3 and game 5 - and you could say that the Mavs have been playing like a bunch of pansies in the last three games. And you could say that there is no chance that will win the next two games... But "do not deserve"?

That's bull poop. Pure bull poop. Because IF the Mavs win the next two, not only WILL they have won, but, yes, they will have DESERVED it.

Now do I think they will win both games? Maybe. But at this point I am freakin' scared they won't. And you know why? Because you are right, I too am questioning their heart. I too am questioning everything I believed about this team. But, then again, I think about how they proved they had heart against San Antone. And how they proved they had guts against PHX. Will they prove it again? Once and for all? I honestly do not know.

But if they do...

Then of course they DESRVE to be the champs. If they don't win, well then of course you are right... but it is more than a little irksome to me to say at this point "Even if they do, blah, blah, blah, then they don't deserve it." If they come back and win now, well hell yeah of course they'll poopin' deserve it!

And you know what? Here's hoping.

Special note to the kids out there.... please do not start a sentence with "and" even if you see it multiple times in a message board post. It won't get you a deal writing for the local newspaper. And, um, yeah, "don't" use contractions as they are eqally detrimental to your chances at that prime newspaper gig. But, uh, do yuze spell check.

take it easy folks. People counted the Heat out way too early. You can't dismiss Shaq like that, I dont care how he looked in game 1. DWade is the best player on the floor and i said before the series started that i didnt think the mavs had a guy who could match up with him. Haslem is giving Dirk fits. Shaq is keeping all the Mavs from driving to the bucket, when the Mavs drive they panic and miss. Dirk has been relegated back to pull ups and fade aways exclusively. Even when he gets a step on Haslem, Shaq is a major deterrant even if he is old. And Shaq has Finals experience, along with Payton and Mourning I think. The Mavs have no Finals experience except Van Horn  , so anyone who thought the Mavs were just going to blow through this thing was probably caught up in the excitement. Not surprised at all that the Mavs tightened up a little o the road in their first trip to the Finals. They will probably be a little tight at home too, but will win it i think if the Mavs get the normal hometown calls at crunchtime. With Cuban though, and the Heat having the Shaq-Wade star power, Espn love fest going, something tells me not to expect calls to go the mavs way.

Phil and the Mavs seem to have a lot in common yesterday.

As per David Sterns policy of ensuring a 7 game series, the Mavs will win tomorrow, with or without ref help. I think game 7 will be fairly refed and will look like games 1 and 2.

Refs are human beings who get caught up in emotion just like the rest of us. They've been pretty good all in all.

Look for a win by the Mavs tonight and a close one for game 7.

Actually they were pretty bad that last game. It was extremely one-sided. Devon Harris will likely have a permanent Shaq-shaped indention on the left side of his body.

Home teams get more calls. Whether they admit it or not, refs often are affected by the outbursts from the crowd. If they make an unpopular call against the home team, they often will make - sometimes subconsciously - the proverbial "makeup call" a little later.
