I think what XTC was saying was that Dubois would not be coming under any circumstance since he made the decision to not send in his transcript, thus he could not be forced into coming to SMU.
Maybe so, but not the impression I got from what he said. I think we all knew he wouldn't be coming here after what his father had said. Just a question of whether he would sit out a year or not.
When will I start feeling stimulated??

I would also imagine that if the kid did not come (his choice) and we did not release (our choice) that we would have a scholarship tied up in a person that was not even on campus. By giving the release it frees up the scholarship to be used elsewhere. The NLI works both ways.

i dont see it that way just on priciple, practically speaking that makes sense but im tired of people taking shortcuts...i bet if it came to him sitting out a year or playing he would change his tune no matter how much posturing he may have done

You do realize after all is said and done that we really did not want him anyway.

Everyone needs to read Doh's blog about his first day recruiting. Anyone who does any amount of flying must relate.
Important question: every time Doh blogs about flying, he's always seated in coach. How does this happen? All those miles and/or segments during the season plus recruiting trips...how can he be so prolific at not getting upgraded?

Good precedent to set: invest the time and money in recruiting a player, build a relationship with him, envision your future teams with him as a part of it, sign a contract you're bound to honor ... and then let him walk if his daddy cries enough.

1st class = winning season, CUSA championship, NCAA birth

Maybe he thinks the classification is that the seating is for coaches so that is where he should sit.

Maybe he used his miles to get upgraded on that trans-Atlantic flight to/from Africa

Today's Blog
July 11
"J.D. DuBois"
I have had a very positive conversation with the DuBois family re JD and his future. We have come to a mutual decision that it is best for JD that we find another place for him to further his career as a student-athlete. JD is a terrific young man with a bright future. I offered my assistance in helping him in any way possible. I want to see him happy and successful.
The Mustang Family wishes JD and his family the best of luck.
