Aside from the weird ref calls, fun game to watch. Can't remember having this many guys who can shoot 3's - great shooting. We'll have to live and die by the 3 with Papa in the middle. Good defense too. Their guys just couldn't get going or in a rhythm. I fully expected to lose by 10, nice surprise.

We actually look like an offense, its such a welcome change. Mangino!!

Doh said on the post game that Mangino was the O man.

Good win. It's nice to see SMU playing some decent baskenball again!

so you're going to let Hobbie & Mangino recruit? That's definitely not what they do

Doh recruits and is the used car salesman, assistants coach the team. I guess we'll have to live with it for a while.

I wasn't being serious, but if I was to answer that question...fire Doh, keep the assistants and hire a good head coach / recruiter.

Problem is, no good coaches would let you dictate their staff (nor should they).

was duck hunting all day so know nothing about the team's performance. Was SMU on and that good or USM not capable of staying with our talent? Appreciate any insight.

Papa Dia went 10 for 10 with 23 points, 9 boards and 4 blocked shots. Methinks his hands are just fine.

Nope.
Today was 69.8%. Second-best ever.
Record was 72% (or so) against Lamar earlier this year.

the "strong hands" mention has nothing to do with his 10 for 10 night. Papa had 6 of our 11 turnovers and most are attributed to his soft hands. He's a talent, for sure. That's just part of his game (as a low post guy) that's missing (the ability to catch and go up strong in traffic)

Great game, guys! Papa is playing great right now, and it's great to see what Clink does with a few open looks beyond the arc.

Doesn't work that way. Clean house... top to bottom.

I wouldn't count on that for this year. This league is average enough to where he will stumble into 6-7 wins and keep the job.

And yes, it can work that way. When there are head coaching changes some assistants are retained and some are not.
