It's almost embarassing to call it a Princeton "Offense." However, it was offensive tonight.

tough loss; long season; I haven't lost interest yet, but this is not a lot of fun

Manuel is no point gaurd...he never looks to dish, he wants to drive and slam...he could do that in high school and he is not sure why it aint working in college. He has no PG skills, he is a big guy that can dribble, worked great on the isolation in high school, but that aint gonna cut it in college. Samp is so far ahead of him in point gaurd savvy, its almost embarrassing.

I wouldn't go that far. He played "nervous" early in that game yesterday and then late, he played like he needed to take over the game and win it by himself. He's just a FR and was playing back in his home area, probably in front of some family and friends. and just had a so-so game.

I do agree he's a guy who can handle the ball and likes to drive to the hoop and finish. It was easier in H.S. when he was so much more athletic than the competition but now he'll have to learn to pick his spots...and dish to the open guy when the defense collapses on him. I think he will learn a lot from last night's game and he will be OK. I still like him on the floor with Frog against a team that is pressing us, but we really need someone other than Rob to step up and knock down shots. I thought Shawn played better last night.

CP...these guys just look so awkward, out of step, non D-I ish, high school...will more time under DOH and staff correct this? OR, do we did some "Gene Hackman" dude to come in here and start anew? SMU hoops is a LONG way from my days as a student watching Jeff Swanson/Mark Davis/Phil Hale/Billy A., etc. with a PACKED gym and my days on the front row as a young alum cheering on Kato & Co...seems like we are stuck in some Reginald Mohomeed spin cycle...

Manuel>>>>>>>>>Jfrog, just not in the princeton. Go 4 out, one in, and he's your PG. Go high ball screen motion, he's your PG. You can't blame Manuel for not executing in an offense that makes no sense for him whatsoever. He's a very good talent, but you have to adapt the O to his strengths when he's running it. He's a north south kid, not east west

From my view last night, this team is missing a big or 2 to penetrate as we pass a ton, but only at the top of the key looking for a 3 every time. You live and die by the 3 like that and you are going to get burned. Also, this team needs some real slashers to penetrate and get an easy bucket. That said, they need to work on fundamentals as Leslee Smith and another player missed a couple of wide-open layups. Also, Shawn Williams, Clink and others need to work on their passing as we turned it over due to some lazy passes that hit off the receivers knees. Overall I was satisfied with the effort as they were down the whole night and never relented. Additionally, despite the poor shooting we could have easily had the game with a bucket here or there.

Not sure if anyone brought this up (too lazy to check), but as I was listening to the game on the way back from a friends house, when Rich was reading the stats, we actually had more turnovers than made baskets. And this was into the second half, 12 TOs versus 8 baskets. That is a crazy stat. Sad thing is we were still in the game.

We were in the game because that is what the Princeton does. It keeps the score close whether you are the superior or inferior team. The problem is that we weren't making too many shots last night and needed an inside presence to bail out our shooters.

Yes, I get how the princeton keeps us in most if not all games, and we were also playing good defense. But the point is a team is not playing well when it has more turnovers than made baskets by the second half!

So what does this evaluation mean if this system simply does not fit his skill sets??? Transfer?
