Well...Brown has said he is interested in the job (or so it has been reported). What about Knight...has he indicated any interest at all in the job. We have already offered a bunch of coaches who obviously were not interested. Are you suggesting we go after Knight who has not indicated even a slight interest (that I am aware of)?
You bet your sweet bippy I am...

Sounds like another chance for a swing and a miss...just what we don't need. Other than the fact you want him, what are the real chances he would even accept if offered?

No way they'd even call him. But I can dream, can't I?

Dream away, but it might be more rewarding if the subject of your dreams was a luscious blond.

I'm keeping this on the basketball side. I prefer brunettes.

That'll work.

I disagree with Mitch on pretty much everything, but you'd have to be crazy not to want Bobby Knight at this point. He would bring a tremendous amount of attention to the SMU program, unlike anything we've seen in decades. Moody would be packed, and we'd be all over ESPN. He wouldn't be my first choice, but we could do a LOT worse.
Slightly off-topic- but I heard when he was at TT that he claimed the SMU student section was one of the crudest he'd ever encountered, and that he'd never schedule us again. Is this true? I can't imagine our apathetic fanbase ruffling Knight's feathers like that

How many times would we be on TV because he's coaching here?

I don't remember how many years ago it was...maybe ten or more...but the student section sitting behind the TT bench was as obnoxious and vulgar as can be and gave Knight all kinds of grief all night. I think after that game they started restricting the area behind the opponents bench to keep that kind of behaviour to a minimum.

Dumb [deleted] kids. What he should have done was what he did at Northwestern one time. Before a game, he had a bag of candy and threw pieces into the student section. Classic!

No way our fine students were as obnoxious and vulgar as the Tech coach. "Hey, Bobby!"
