Exactly. Not much point in forcing pledges to attend if there's no self-aggrandizing reason (to publish the letters).

I agree with Berger (for once). It looked very small time on tv. I've been to plenty of a Duke and UNC games and have never seen pledges in anything but school colors.

Don't get me wrong I appreciate the enthusiasm and attendance. But it is so self-serving and stupid to be wearing those jerseys. Once upon a time I was a pledge and probably did the same thing. But looking back, I must have looked as douche-tastic as those kids looked last night.

Wear your school colors. Period. Make jerseys for the game in red or blue. Everybody wins.

We aren't duke, unc, or ku. we aren't stanford, or vandy, or even UNM

We are Marshall. I mean, SMU.

Please explain how showing up and wearing SMU colors are mutually exclusive.

Crowd was about 6,000 which is pretty good for the opponent and time slot. Keep winning and the kids might shed the Frat colors and wear SMU colors soon.

Agree RGV. It was looking a little iffy at the start, but ended pretty solid.

While 6,013 was stated attendance, I do agree that was high. However, there were people sitting in the nosebleeds which never happened last year. I think it was in the mid-to high 5,000's.

They are not.

However, if not wearing SAE letters means the SAE's won't be showing up, that would mean:
a) SAEs won't be wearing SAE letters so you don't have to [deleted] about it, and
b) there will be empty seats in the place where there were formerly 30+ SAE's cheering loudly for our team.

Which do you prefer?

After fast forwarding through this, if I were an incoming student, I would be so inspired to attend SMU Basketball game sans any fraternity or sorority letters so much so that I would de-pledge if ordered to attend.
