Hoopman or anyone...Tell me what you know about Grandstaff.Moderators: PonyPride, SmooPower Re: Hoopman or anyone...Tell me what you know about GrandstaI just talked to someone with solid knowledge of Grandstaff, he thought he was using most of his OVs on schools out of the state that he's interested in because he's been able to get to the in-state ones on his own dime for the most part. Don't know that it matters much but basically saying he could very well go to a school that he doesn't OV to.
Re: Hoopman or anyone...Tell me what you know about GrandstaI still think there's a very good chance Grandstaff and Thomas end up at the same school.

Re: Hoopman or anyone...Tell me what you know about GrandstaYou know a lot more about this one than me LA, I haven't so much as even met the kid. You know what AAU team he's with by chance? Hoping to catch him this spring/summer.

Hopefully us. Elijah and Admon Gilder are really close too, correct? 2005 PonyFans.com Rookie of the Year Award Recipient
Re: Hoopman or anyone...Tell me what you know about Grandsta
Yes, we get them both next year.
Re: Hoopman or anyone...Tell me what you know about GrandstaElijah Thomas -- the juice may not be worth the squeeze. There may be too much baggage involved. If he comes here, great. But I would suggest this won't be an easy journey between both him and SMU.
Re: Hoopman or anyone...Tell me what you know about Grandsta
I base that hunch from following them on twitter...and I know it's shortsighted to put much stock in what 17-18 year olds tweet but they seem very close, and I remember someone posting that Thomas lived with the Grandstaff's for a while. As ECM posted, Gilder is very close to Thomas as well. Anyway, I have nothing really to back this up. It's a gut felling. SMU-12 NCAA appearances, 1 Final Four

Re: Hoopman or anyone...Tell me what you know about Grandsta
Care to elaborate? He's the #9 player in the nation for 2015 and we will lose Yanick, Cannen, and Tolbert in the front court. I'd say there's a fair amount of "juice" there. 2005 PonyFans.com Rookie of the Year Award Recipient
Re: Hoopman or anyone...Tell me what you know about GrandstaWe are supposedly in the lead for Thomas. Not sure what is meant by "this won't be an easy journey between both him and SMU?" Very odd.

Re: Hoopman or anyone...Tell me what you know about GrandstaNot sure where we stand with Tyler Davis but he and/or Thomas would both be big additions for us in 2015. Pretty insane how much elite talent is right here in the DFW area for 2015: Thomas, Davis, McClure, Gilder, Evans, Hogg, Mickey Mitchell, Grandstaff, McQuaid, and I'm probably forgetting some

Re: Hoopman or anyone...Tell me what you know about Grandsta
I would say those chances at Davis our extremely low but they do have time to make a run.
Re: Hoopman or anyone...Tell me what you know about Grandsta
Yeah, you nailed that one. There's an insane amount of talent next year in DFW.
Re: Hoopman or anyone...Tell me what you know about GrandstaGrandstaff offered by Texas and Maryland today.
Re: Hoopman or anyone...Tell me what you know about GrandstaGrandstaff is overrated IMHO from what I've seen. Plus there's a helicopter dad issue from what I understand. Thomas and Davis and Gilder and Hogg? Yes please. Throw in Barefield and another 1-2 from out of the area and we're in business (LB likes his guards big . . . like Phil Jackson).
Re: Hoopman or anyone...Tell me what you know about GrandstaYou may want to inform the 30 coaches that have offered him that he's overrated...his tape looks pretty good to me and I watched one of his games, I'd say he's top 50 caliber from what I've seen without it being live.
