on any team that has hopes to go anywhere Shawn is not a 3.

Personally I would prefer playing with a taller lineup putting Sterling Brown at the 2 and Shawn at the 3, Ben at the 4, MK at the 5.
Please stop with suggesting that any of the bigs can play the 3. The 3 is a GUARD, especially at the college game. If there's not enough spaces for the bigs to be on the floor, guess what, one of them comes off the bench. Novel concept eh?

Your imaginary lineup of MK, YM, SB, NM and SW probably will never happen, not nearly enough ball handling or shooting. SB is a 3 (maybe SLIGHTLY undersized) but he plays and rebounds bigger than he is. He is atheltic enough to guard the wing. Shawn WIlliams is not a 3. Really excited for the leap Sterling is going to make next year, I think he will be a decent offensive threat and one that you dont have to run set plays for. What a 4 year glue guy Sterling is going to be.

Thanks for pointing this out. Haven't really fully appreciated it. Definitely agree. I've been impressed by the handful of times he has taken it toward the hoop and has been athletic/creative enough to get it to the hoop without getting blocked/stripped (and even makes a decent percentage). He's very crafty and seems to have solid positioning no matter the situation. And I definitely see the need for guys like this who contribute in big ways without demanding the ball every time down the court. How incredible would it be if part of his "leap" sophomore year made him a deadly spot up shooter when teams collapse on Nic and Mudiay? That's the kind of thing that would make us practically unguardable regardless of whether Eman develops his shot in the offseason.

I would be interested in thoughts as to who may not be back next year by their choice. I realize that Brown may not renew a scholarship or two but I am more interested in whether or not someone deemed valuable may decide to transfer for playing time. Any thoughts?

Curious about Crandall Head, but I don't think he'd have any more eligibility left if he transferred again.

I'm in this camp as well. I've become more and more of a believer in Sterling as the season has progressed I see a major role for him next year, one that doesn't always show in the stats. Our starter at three this year, our stud at three next year.

This. I get down right giddy thinking about Eman, Nic, and Sterling together. Sterling and Nic have (hopefully) learned a lot this year (they both got some great learning opportunities at Louisville - Nic about staying poised and Sterling about saviness from someone much less athletic but more experienced than him in Hancock). Throw in MK and another stud big man if it's not Yanick (along with the depth of Manuel, B Moore if he doesn't start, and Cannen) and things get real exciting.

I really don't think Sterling is that athletic, in fact Hancock might be more athletic. Sterling just has a high basketball IQ and is very tough minded.

Don't leave Ryan out either. It might seem tough to find minutes for him with all the talent but competition is a great thing. Off-season commitment may yield some huge surprises.
But hey…let's not worry about this too much now….we've got a huge game tomorrow, a conference tourney next week and then we're going to the BFD!!!!!! Whodathunkit?

Hancock was not that impressive to me. His best play was his D on the break away right at the end. Sunk a couple of shots but he was no big deal. Smith - now that guy is a rock star.

He impressed me on how he pushes off when shielding the ball to get his shot off-but never gets called for a foul

that was one game, the guy is heady and gets in the right places & shoots very well. He didn't need to be good when you have Smith doing that.
