I have one extra ticket. If anyone needs a single. Section 11 row 3 (which is actually 4 because there is an A row). Great seats.

If you're coming in for the game and your flight lands at Newark, your best bet to get into the City is to take the AirTrain (monorail tram like they have at Disney World) to the NJ Transit train platform, and then take a commuter train into Penn Station (the trains arrive underground, immediately underneath MSG). Just make sure you don't get on an Amtrak train.

The NJ Transit train is like $15 or so, they accept credit cards, and there's always an attendant there to help out if you get confused. Beats the hell out of a cab ride (easily $75) and much faster.

If you're coming in via LaGuardia, bite the bullet and take a cab ($40-$50 into midtown), because there is no subway station into the airport and the buses are slow.

JFK also has an AirTrain that feeds into the subway system. Take the Howard Beach AirTrain and get on the A subway line, which stops very close to MSG at 34th Street/Penn Station.

If you're not familiar with the NYC subway system, there are a ton of free mobile apps. The two I like are "Kickmap Lite" and "Embark NYC" because they save a copy of the map on your phone so you can access it underground (no cell service in the tunnels).

Embark has a routing tool that's pretty good, and the Google Maps mobile app has really good transit directions (so good that it's what the public transit authority uses on its website). When you enter in the destination, tap the train icon to get the public transit route.

I would add on as an additional option, if you are coming from JFK you can take the Airtrain to Jamaica Station and from there get on the LIRR (Long Island Rail Road) and take it to Penn Station. I believe it is $4 for the Airtrain and $7 for the LIRR ticket (off peak).

Good call. That's a lot faster than the A train.

well, for the older ponyfans NJ Transit is 1/2 price for seniors starting at 62 year old. no proof, just honor system when you buy your ticket from the machine. you must buy your ticket before you board otherwise there is a $5 surcharge.

Yeah but the scenery on the A train can't be valued. Just don't get off till you hit Manhattan.
