It will be interesting to see where he lands.
What quality program does he go to that he's not deeper on the bench right now. He'll get recruited over at any quality program.

Yes, fans sometimes pretend to want what is best for the player when in reality they want what is best for their college team. Notice he did not say anything about when KF transferred. Fans are just as big of hypocrites as anyone else.

Lets not go down that never ending rabbit hole again. If Sutton is staying and wants to play why hasn't he already came down to practice with us? That would be big if he did. The thing that ultimately worries me isn't that Froling is leaving, but if we lose Semi after this year. Losing Fro might cost us a game somewhere, but I'm not convinced Sterling can't do everything "as a reserve big man" that Froling can do outside of standing there looking tall. Just have to turn the offense into more of a 4 guard offense.

Are you assuming we lose Semi to the Pro's? From what I have seen this year Semi and Shake are quite ready to make that jump.

No it would not be big if he did. I saw Sutton play last year and he is not a good 6'4 post player. He is okay but not what some of you unrealistic fans think. And he would be risking injury to his football career which could be worth millions. Now let's see, I guess this class that we were bragging about that we did not want to lose due to a ban this year may turn out to be McDowell and Wilson.

he was so timid in this system. Was having a hard time adjusting to the seed and athleticism at a major level. We can't catch a break with our Bigs. that's 3 4 stars Gone in less than a year
Good night

What am I being hypocritical about? I do want the best outcome for SMU basketball. It would have been good for SMU to hold on to Keith Frazier until the end of the season last season. It would be good if Froling finished the season at SMU. It is also a wasted season on their part. If he resumes his eligibility in January of 2018, he will have lost the 2017 Spring and 2018 Fall semesters. If he resumes his eligibility in the fall of 2018 he will have lost the spring 2017 semester. Transferring mid-season is a lose-lose for the player and the school. It is especially so in this case as he is playing about 17 minutes/game. He is actually playing so it is not as if he is not playing and the team needs him to fill those minutes. Just like Frazier and Brown Froling is giving a big FU to the team. I am not worried about Jankovich, he will either eventually figure it out or won't, but the guys on the team don't have too many options and they are screwed.

Shake is not ready for the pros. We do need Courtland now especially as a practice player.

So have Courtland come and risk injury to be a practice player and part time game player. Now I have heard it all.

Grad-transfer. He isn't ready for pros. I'm afraid he will want to get a masters somewhere else especially if we don't even make the tourney..He is a smart kid and I don't know enough about if he loves SMU and has much loyalty to us. Or could just decide to go play in Europe. Grad-transfer more so. Shake won't go pro after this year.

Siy Froling was not playing that much I still think our chances are about the same on making the NIT or NCAA tournament.

He did it last year and he could play some minutes too. He is a decent player and we need some bodies.

I agree with this. The Sutton thing if he wants to play let him play. I don't think he will and I don't think he's gonna be back next season so it's likely a moot point, but I watched him play last year too. He might not be the answer to any questions, however he could potentially give us a few good minutes.
