Yes, that statement was made and is a sad commentary on the state of the situation.

I liked the Alex Malone jumper from the baseline that hit the side of the backboard. Unbelievable.

Corner shots are tough and that shot may have been deflected. My concern is that far too many shots were literally launched without any feeling, touch, arch...etc. and miss badly.

Our offense is simply bad whether or not it is a FT. How many shots in the 2d half clanked off the side edge of the back board or missed the rim?? Answer: far too many.

I am talking about the Crum Center and the entire season's FT %

In the first half though, SMU was putting on a shooting clinic, pretty nice to get 33 in the first half against Memphis with 15 TOs on the books. At one point SMU was 6-6 from three point range and shooting about 80 percent. Of course they were only gettting shots about 1 of every three trips.

As spotty as our outside shooting is, Memphis was safe in knowing that they could pack the middle and let us keep bombing and sooner or later bricks would start falling and they did. We try and force it inside and boom, turnover. Predictable finish. Glad to see Doh get the gate, because it does show that he's not going to let the refs get away with things. I suspect the ejection was a cumulative thing. He was probably baiting the ref for awhile and finally the ref just threw him out. Without a consistent

That does sound like a good drinking game, though. A shot for every turnover. Or a variation might be a shot for every brick. Either one, unconsciousness would be quick.
