I know that Hewitt is a balls-to-the-wall AAU/recruiter and has put some serious skill in the NBA...but...just watching him on the bench, I have this nightmare of black Doh w/ a mustache with a nightmare on repeat.

pretty accurate. Consider that info straight off his bench. As always, could be smoke, but I tend to doubt it. This gentleman was excited

this is funny, but i'm so desperate for a change and have been for awhile, that i almost will take anybody within reason. But my list starts with Bruiser I think. He has a name on the East Coast, experienced but still reasonably young for a head coach, and i think he would recruit like a beast in Texas.

Bruiser would be at the top of my list but I doubt he would come to SMU....

Weber should do as Dement did when he finished at SMU and go back and coach from whence he came.

There better be some news from our men's BB program by Tuesday afternoon or else our AD will be considered by me to be really soft forever more.

already disappointed that we did not act quickly and decisively. Illinois pulled the trigger within 24 hours of their season ending. So did Brown. Brown! What nonsense are we waiting for? maximum coverage? Please, we should hope no one notices or talks about Doh's terrible record at SMU. We just need to make a stealthy, fast hire.

I am too but I guess the talking points from the AD's office is that he's probably in Indianapolis trying to talk about the NCAA tournament field set and all that business.

I can't accept that and when I read that he's meeting with Doherty on Tuesday, I just  . Are you kidding me? He couldn't meet Thursday afternoon with Doherty and then run off to Indianapolis?

It didn't seem to bother Illinois' AD -- a new one who didn't hire Weber -- to turn around the next day after they lost in the Big 10 tournament to fire his coach.

What the hell. I don't want to hear about some BS scheduling thing. We're talking about the health of the SMU men's BB program.

I really hope Orsini is NOT more concerned about his vanity and not wanting to look like he failed when it came to picking a men's BB coach here.

Sometimes, personnel decisions just don't work out like this one.

Orsini has been in Indy for a long time already. He is required to be at the hotel due to his membership on the NCAA basketball committee.

Now...one wonders why he didn't fly Doherty to Indy to meet w/ him there, but whatever. Five days won't make a huge difference. Fifteen would, however, so it had better be next Tuesday or we are in some trouble.
