I hear the women's volleyball team is really good. If I was a student I'd go - hot girls who dominate. When I first moved to LA I lived next door to a couple UCLA volleyball ladies. Good times!

Remember when we complained about the SAE's last year wearing their jerseys? I'll take that all day compared to the crap we have now.

Everyone needs to face it. The reason it was so loud last year was because Greeks were there. It's that simple. Just not the case this year and it shows.

I counted 1 beer (ONE) in the mob section last night....and he ended up getting kicked out. This is a problem.

The current kids as a group are terrible - whatever system is in place that is keeping them there over others has to be scrapped. Sorry. That is the bottom line.

To elaborate though....There is also no reason at all to believe, even if fraternity kids did go to a decent number of events, that they would beat out the current MOB. I would love to see a point breakdown, but I am sure the ones down there virtually guarantee a ticket by going to almost everything. Again, that is great but it has yielded pathetic fans, which sucks but that is the truth.

I never said give the fraternities anything, but figure out another way to get fraternities in there. Actually, how about this. Let's figure out a way to at least get the vast majority of kids down there out. We can all agree on that, no?

Everyone knew the system, turned out it was really stupid system. As I said, I thought it would work. I want the best crowd, I don't care at this point how they do it, but tickets need to be allocated differently.

It's not about getting the most points, it's about getting the 130 points required. Someone with 300 points doesn't have more eligibility than someone with 130.

How many events do you have to attend to get to 130? Also, what happens if more kids have 130 than tickets available?

That is just for my own curiosity. What I said still stands.

I just want a enthused and engaged MOB. I have been to SMU basketball games where the student section was nothing but greek letters and it was a morgue. Not sure just getting the fraternities down there is the complete answer. There does need to be a concerted effort among the student section to work together.

I think the MOB is lacking and I am concerned. But they obviously did better for the arky game then any of the others. I think we are all still comparing Louis, Memphis, UCONN, Cincy and the NIT games to Lamar / Monmouth type games. The MOB shouldn't care and they should be nuts for any game, but they are still learning how to cheer like a top 25 school, just like our team is trying to learn to play like a top 25 team.

Cupcake games were rowdier last year without question. I can't remember the team, I think it was a Cal school, but it was as loud as the 2nd half of Arkansas last week. That one stands out in my mind because I was impressed with the students.

If the same people minus the seniors were down there this year vs. who is actually down there this year, there would be no "learning to cheer"

That was an nit game. Cupcakes last year were in Garland, apparently you weren't there because you could have heard a mouse fart in that place.

I do remember that about 5 students showed up to the Garland game, and that was with a bus running from campus to Garland. I believe a couple of them did dress up though.

I was wrong, can't remember who. Look at the schedule from last year there are plenty of meh games littered in there throughout the semester. Don't remember a student crowd being weak. Thanks for assuming I'd confuse an NIT game with a cupcake though, and also that I didn't go to garland. I went to every one out there, it was so bizarre with how empty it felt

I don't want to present a problem where there might not be one. And this kind of story has probably been told above. If so, apologies for the repeat.

My son is a freshman at Baylor, but his best friend is an SMU freshman. His job, the friend's, was to simply to check in at the game against Texas Southern to ensure that either he (or another student or a a MOB member?) got the points. So my son literally waited outside for five minutes while this kid checked in to the game and left.

That doesn't seem to me to be what we want to happen.

I hadn't read that before. I don't think the points system is the issue. 130 points is stupid easy.

More than likely it has more to do with the fact that so far we're barely a .500 team that has only played one high-profile home game. (In which the team played terribly - especially in the first half - and lost.)

We'll see how things shake out in conference play...

It was ridiculously easy getting the 130 points. As a MOB member from last year we already had a 30 point headstart over everyone else. Most games that counted for points early on were for football at 30 points a pop. I was eligible for membership when we played TCU and that was the first game any MOB members from last year also would've been eligible had they got attended every game up to TCU.

But seriously, stupid points system
