I know he's a crowd favorite cause he's white, but:

Most team's crowds get excited for a walk on to play as it signal s an @@@whipping but enough to put them ...inwhite, black, or space alien etc...

Wilson is white too. Wilfong is a crowd favorite because of the work he puts in for little personal reward and no scholarship, not because of his skin color.

I have seen them both play every game - and yes Wilfong has a better all around game. Wilfong is more athletic, better defense handles ball better and hustles on the court more than Wilson. Neither of them have shot that well, but Wilson probably better shooter.

"And to Wild Mustang, Wilson was not pathetic. Come on, he is a talented player. Never was given a chance, and it was probably the best for our program and him. It just didn't work here. Not his fault." Quote from LA_Mustang

LA_Mustang... You think that Tom WIlson was a talented player? Tom Wilson was an embarrassment for a D1 College Basketball Player. With your infinite basketball wisdom please tell me what talent Tom Wilson brought to the court when his was given the chance to play this season? You say that Tom Wilson "never was given the chance". To play for Coach Jank, or Coach Brown for that matter, you have to earn your minutes. Tom Wilson did nothing to deserve more of chance than what he was given. Even when Tom Wilson got some minutes he did nothing more than take up space on the floor, play matador defense, drift around on the perimeter, miss open three pointers, and turn the ball over. I thought I read before this season that Tom Wilson was suppose to be a confident, cocky, baller, who could get his teammates involved as a PG. Not so much. The kid is no PG. The kid is no 2G. Truth be told, the kid is no D1 college basketball player.

You say that it is "Not his fault". Really?? Whose fault was it? Given your insider knowledge of AAU Basketball and College Basketball Recruiting one would think that your ability to evaluate "on the court" talent would be much better. Your comments are disappointing. My Mom, who is a proud mother of two SMU Grads (and is probably the biggest Mustang Fan you will ever know), was even able to recognize how bad both Harry Froling and Tom Wilson were as basketball players. Come on LA_Mustang you can do better. Let the "Yo Mama" jokes begin :)

Jeez.... I'm totally ok with Wilson moving on. We can do better and no doubt he knew he'd be recruited over. But c'mon.... you can't reach any conclusion on what he may have added based on his 20 Or so minutes.... much of it garbage time.

Lighten up Frances.

I don't want to see anyone white on my basketball team.

Wilson was slow and flat footed - not D1 material

for all of those who do not think Wilson is capable of competing at the D-1 level, keep in mind that all those teams we beat by 20-30 points are D-1. There are plenty of places he could go and have a good opportunity of earning minutes, if not a starting job. SMU's talent level is in the top 20% and possibly even very close to the top 10% of D-1 basketball teams
