Teams know to then drop into a zone and dare us to shoot the 3. And when per chance we do get the ball inside, they know they can foul us because our free throw shooting is not great. Until we can make them pay for those strategies, we will have a long rest of the season. Our guards need to find a spot on the floor in practice that they hit 75-80% of the time outside of the arc. And get to that spot in games. Virtually every shooter has their spot on the floor that they know if they get there and are open they can drain it. Perhaps its time to get out the medicine ball for passing drills. That does wonders for improving your ability to catch the ball because if you don't, you get a 10 lb sack hitting your sack or head. Lastly, wind sprints followed by free throw shooting over and over and over again. These are elemental things a college coach shouldn't have to do, but at this stage its time to get back to fundamentals.

No, just intramurals, but have coached youth leagues in the past. And of course played varsity in HS in the mean prep leagues of DC and had an old school fundamentals type coach.
