If you guys are really upset about this, like someone said, just ask them. I don't really care but the link above shows who the chapter leadership is.
Nevermind, that's a 2013 link. Maybe someone on here knows who the current SAE president or pledge trainer is. I'm sure if you asked and didn't act like a [deleted] about it like you would here on PF, they might be more receptive to the idea than you think

Some of you are such clowns. Don't you understand that BECAUSE the sae's wore their jerseys we all now know that they were great and that they showed up???? MAYBE THATS THE WHOLE F-ING POINT?????
Get over your holier than thou, SMU attitudes. You're acting so entitled that you're trying to dictate the clothes that our students wear to games. Most of you would've rejoiced last year at the sight of half that many guys from a frat coming and just because we have games on TV now and beat UConn once, you decide to knit pick the crap out of it.
You think LB cares? Hell no, he's happy to see that they showed up, especially after he reached out to ask for support. Some of you need to stop trying to be such control freaks

dude - you have reading comprehension issues. That's right - I just duded you.
its not that big a deal - but it would be better if they didn't try to be so "look at me" . Liked kind of "try hard". Up to them if they want to be viewed that way.

I don't think we are quite "there" yet with the bball program, it's still on the rise. Don't care so much about what the students are wearing, just cool to see HUNDREDS of them show up for home games.
However, here's a hypothetical question: What does everyone say if we had played TCU or LSU or Northwestern on national TV last night, and the SAE's were in purple? Those of you defending the SAE's (and not saying you're in the wrong), what would you think in that situation?

BOP- I think the point is we eventually want to get to a point where students identify more with SMU than their fraternity, at least for 2 hrs while they're at SMU sporting events. I think it's great their whole pledge class showed up last night and I'm not bashing them at all, but like someone said earlier, "big time" college bball programs dont have student sections full of kids wearing their Greek letter jerseys that aren't school colors.

It would've looked a lot worse, that's for sure.

The IFC at SMU needs to design t-shirts with SMU on the pocket and on the back have Peruna kicking the sh*t out of the opponent (then ring the frat and sorority's Greek Letters around the graphic). Done! Now let's get back to complaining about June, the band, or something else. See this all the time in the SEC.

SAE pledges have always been the best at cheering. You guys that have been going to games for years know this.
But I think that they will be just as good without their jerseys. This is about the team not your fraternity. I think that instead of being identified by your jerseys, you should be such a good group of cheerers that everyone knows who you are.
The Memphis game will be the first game where every pledge class will be at the game (due to the first ticket allotment being before they were pledges). It will be very interesting to see who turns up in team colors.
Wear red and blue and be proud.

Preach on, Smerkins. What kind of student turnout do you expect tomorrow night?

We should make Memphis game a "RED OUT" since their primary color is blue
Give out shirts that say "BEAT MEMPHIS" and give them out as people walk in

Red and blue SAE jerseys. Then they look like they are supporting SMU AND get credit for being great fans. Simple.

Several years ago, the SigEps had SMU red and navy (I know, wrong blue) jerseys for pledges even though their colors are red and purple...it really is that simple. But please continue clinging tooth-and-nail to your purple (etc.) ones and moan how you're not going to show up unless you can make games as much about you as possible.
