Confidence, but.....

Postby Duke Blue Blood » Fri Dec 17, 2004 3:24 pm

This was one of those feel good games. Baylor is clearly a young inexperienced team. This should be a confidence booster. I am still troubled by the lack of our half-court set, but maybe the guys are sill learning the system.

I liked the class move on Tubbs part of not running up the score with 3:30 left.

According to XTC, this is the same offensive scheme used by Dement. If that is the case, they should know it by now. High Post offensive set with the 4-5 at the top of the key.

It was the same, but in the last 2 games we're starting to see more new sets. We'll probably still see a fair bit of the 1-4 high post offense that both Dement and Kelvin Sampson use extensively. Thats what the players are familiar with, and its what the type of offense that Jimmy has been in for years now. I see new sets being utilized, but we will probably use some of the older patterns for awhgile.

Why do you think he likes this so much? It never seemed to work that well in the past w/ these players and doesn't seem to create much activity. What other sets are we seeing?

The good things we have seen thusfar seem to be rebounding.

Some sets in the halfcourt game are the same, but the team runs a lot more under Coach Tubbs, and that's an aspect of the game that is still getting better, and will continue to do so.
