I'll try. Depends how my head feels. Not sure I'll be able to stomach the sound of a bouncing basketball that day. But if I can, I will.

I should be at the game, but I'm not going to sit out there with a few drums and bang away the whole game.

And if we can't get an entire ensemble together, then it's pointless to play. Now, coming out and cheering is different. We can do that..

It would be great if y'all could get enough people to play on New Years Day. The atmosphere at the Thanksgiving tournament was a little off with no Mustang Band. Thankfully, the Lady Mustangs provided a great game to watch.

IIRC, there was a small group that went to Houston to play at the UH game "unofficially" several years ago (99 or 2000).

BarbaraAnn, do you play in a band? Or are you retired from the skins?

It might not be officially possible to get a group together, but I'll see who I can contact on Thursday. I can't make any promises.

Aside from random SMU appearances, I've been doing some musical theater, some jazz band stuff, but mainly I play with my own loud, noisy rock and roll band. http://www.myspace.com/foreignfilm

No, it was official. It was just a "pep band" instead of the full band. We had to go through the directors and make it official or they wouldn't have let us bring our horns into the stadium. That was a great trip...

Anybody in the band want to show up and play anyway? Why AREN'T we playing? Is it just because Tommy and Kehler want a day off? Not that they don't deserve it, but can't we play anyway? Stan could direct? Let's get this ball rolling!!

Ask about it on Thursday night when we'll be there for the SMU-Rice (women's) game.
