SMU - 64
Nevada - 55

Sarah Davis leads the Mustangs in scoring with 19 points, including 4 threes, to pace the Mustangs to a 64-55 win over a pesky Nevada squad Thursday night at Moody Coliseum. Kendall Shead went zero from the field, but grabbed a season-high 13 rebounds, dished out 7 assists and swished 4 free throws, including several down the stretch to seal the win.

The Mustangs move to 16-4 (7-3) on the year and remain in second place in the WAC.

Come out Saturday at 2:00 pm as Fresno State visits Moody Coliseum.

It was a very, very ugly game to watch, but a win's a win. After just checking the scores for tonight, it appears the ladies are all alone in 2nd at the moment, but they have a tough game against Fresno at Moody Sat. at 2, so c'mon out.

p.s. speaking of ugly, I just checked the men's score at nevada....

No, it wasnt pretty. Too many rebounds tipped around, instead of grabbed. Too many layups that bounced around the rim and popped out. Too many garbage baskets for Nevada. But, its still a win, and hopefully the team will be more focused on Saturday. Strange things are happening in the WAC these days, and the Lady Mustangs have a real chance to go into the WAC tournament as the 2nd seed.

The one good thing about last nights game was the re-emergence of Sarah Davis. She really asserted herself last night, and had a great all-around game, with 8 boards, 3 blocks, and a couple of steals to go with the 19 points. Sarah has settled for the outside jump shot tooo much this year, letting Janielle be the focus in the paint. It was good to see her driving the lane and taking the ball to the basket, again.
