Crack me up
Posted: Fri Feb 11, 2005 10:21 amSome of you folks crack me up with your expectations. A 20 point win over ANYBODY is big. With the walking wounded just recovering enough to play with some skill, we are gradually creeping back to what our mediocre talent can be elevated to. When is the last time that any of you that doubt that a 20 point win is significant have been involved in one, on the HS or college level?, and also let me add, that you played a significant part in. Are we a strong team? No. Are we playing with some spirit and intensity on a night in night out basis? Yes. Can we get better than we are? Yes. Will we be a dominant force in CUSA? Doubtful on the short term.
This board has identified the problem that whether Dement was coaching or Tubbs, we don't have a competitive advantage with many teams due to institutional policies that are in place. Until we can get by some of those, lets be happy that we have a team that looks like they are playing some fundamentaly sound hoops and giving us as much as they have. If you don't enjoy watching this team at this time of year more than you have in the past several years, I am not sure you would know improvement if you saw it.
