Folks, a win is a win. The good news is that SMU can win at home against a team higher in the WAC standings than themselves. Granted the Rainbows had also lost at La Tech on their road trip, but this win is a sign that the ponies are beginning to do what it will take to be a good team in years to come.

Although it became a little tense at the end, this was generally a well played game in which the Ponies seemed always in control. Much better effort than Thursday. It looked like Hop got hit on his bad right wrist towards the end of the game and was in some pain but still hit his free throws.

Maybe this year's team is one that "plays to the level of its opponents." Hawaii isn't going to make anyone forget the Illinois team that's rolling along undefeated or the Maryland squad that swept Duke tonight (NICE!), but UH is like the San Antonio Spurs next to that San Jose bunch we whipped Thursday. Had we played tonight like we did then, we would have lost. Hawaii isn't great, but that's not a bad team. Tonight was a good performance (tonight's win was the most lopsided loss UH has suffered all year!)

Way to go, Ponies!
