Lady Mustangs win.....

Postby youngalumpony » Thu Feb 24, 2005 10:35 pm

59-53 over Boise State tonight at Moody. It was ugly, but the ladies' 18th win of the season. Home finale is Sat. at 2 vs. UTEP, last chance to watch and show support for a really good ladies team.

Would you say that they have improved as the season has gone along?

Congratulations, Mustangs.

Two victories (home against UTEP, at Tulsa and at Rice) in the next three games would produce a 20 win regular season.

Then it is off to Reno and the WAC Tournament.

Not sure if they have really improved or not Alex, hard to say. They aren't winning with quite as much frequency now as they were in December, but they played a large majority on their non conference games at home, and the WAC has had a really strong year on the women's side, in fact they are ranked 7th in the rpi as a conference, well ahead on conference usa. Plus with only 9 healthy players all year, i'm sure they've worn down a little bit. Considering the number of underclassman on the team, and the shortage of healthy players, this has been an outstanding year for them, regardless of what happens the rest of the way. They may come up a little short of the NCAA's this year, who knows, but I'm confident that this is only the beginning for a program that will become a force over the next few years.

it's good to see Ronda's teams back where I had come to expect them. I was getting a little worried there for the past few seasons. I'm just glad no one got a bug up his butt to try to fire her.
The donkey's name is Kiki.

On a side note, anybody need a patent attorney?

Good, Bad...I'm the one with the gun.
