This is pretty big news, this will really help the program if we can get these, but as far as renovating moody goes, is the locker room and offices enough????

From previous posts, that isn't the full story I don't think. Hopefully, they'll move all the offices out of the hallway. This has been discussed a lot but lighting, new floor, new paint, new concessions, and new scoreboard need attention.

hasn't SMU been "exploring" this project for about 8 years now? Is there some news here, like funding has been approved or found?

I agree, it's only news if we have secured funding.

Any idea what construction is going on in the front of Moody, like where the flagpole is/was? Are they putting in a fountain or something? Looks like they're actually building something more than just tearing up the concrete to fix pipes, etc.

They are putting in a statue of a mustang, it is supposed to be 11-12 feet tall I think. The next time you see Judith ask her about it, she has pictures of the whole process.

Hope they point it the right direction, unlike the Doak Walker statue.
The statue should face away from the stadium, so that the stadium is in the background.
Doak should be greeting fans as they walk toward the stadium, not showing his rear end to them.
Also makes for better pictures if you can have the stadium in the background.

Didn't someone report that most (if not all) offices -- maybe other than basketball and volleyball -- are moving to Ford Stadium eventually?

All valid points. But, once again, there was very little thought put into something before it was done.
Yeah, I'd hate to have a Mustang's rear-end greeting basketball fans to Moody. Maybe they'll have it running from left to right...?

I suspect they wanted Doak facing in the general direction of Air Line Road so people driving by would not be looking at his rear. There is traffic on that street every day...not just game day.
