Even with three straight losses, the executive director of the WNIT said yesterday that SMU looks solid for a WNIT bid. Apparently SMU has been lobbying for the bid based on its 64 PPI rating and victories over Mississippi and Maine. In addition, it appears that SMU has accepted an invitation to next years preseason WNIT. Some good news after a dismal end of the season.

If this is true, congrats to Rhonda Rompola and her team. And while the team didn't quite maintain that sizzling pace they were on early in the season, they've had an amazing season. When you think how they started the season with what seemed like no scholarship players on her roster (well, not really, but you get the point), the run they put together this year was remarkable.
Terrific job, Coach Rompola.
