I saw that the Michigan State assistant Doug Wojcik that we interviewed last year was hired by Tulsa to lead their program. I guess we'll get to see how good a coach/recruiter he is up close and personal.

He comes with a strong pedigree. Tom Izzo reportedly thinks the world of him.
Hope he's not bringing Izzo/Thugball with him, though. They (the Spartans) are good, but they're not pretty.

I thought Nolan Richardson had said he wanted his old job back. I guess not?

Might not have been his choice, of course.

and on the same day, it was ironic that former Tulsa coach Buzz Petersen got canned after 4 years at Tennessee. I bet Tulsa fans had to like that after all the coaches that have left there.

Buzz is an [deleted] and a joke. I am glad he got canned...he deserved it.
I think Kansas is unstable and will choke...Self is probably kicking himself
for leaving Illinois....his recruits?

You have to be kidding PF. Bill Self has one of the top 3-4 jobs in the US if not the top. Even though his recruits are killing everyone this year at IU, he knows where he wants to be for the next 20 years.
Don't count KU out this year. They have had a lot of injuries and will be well by the 2nd game of the tourney (better than for almost the entire year). This is a team who lost to OSU on the last shot without their second best player and one who beat UK withought their best one (Simien). They had a couple of really bad games but they are very dangerous and not a bad dark horse pick this year (if KU is ever a dark horse)

I think everyone knows I wasn't thrilled with the Tubbs hire. I would have much prefered one of the other names that were considered like Wojcik or Roberts.

If Wojcik panns out for Tulsa and Tubbs doesn't, this will look similar to the Dement hire. Does anybody remember that list of candidates that Copeland put together? It was a pretty good list. Tommy Amaker was among them. Think we'd like a do over on that one?
