would be interested in hearing from someone in attendance...the announced crowd was slightly over 1,000 vs men's crowds announced slightly over 2,000. Were there more actual butts in seats for the ladies?

I'm going to say no, there are probablyy more actual butts in seats at the mens games, although it can be a little hard to compare. The courtside blue seats are open at the womens games, you can buy a reserved seat ticket, but in general they dont stop other people from moving down into that section, so the blue seats often fill up quickly at the womens games, in contrast to the mens games where they have been at about 10% occupancy for the last couple of home games. At mens games, people tend to sit in their assigned seats, at least at the beginning of the game, so the crowd is really spread out. At the womens games they tend to cluster in the courtside and mid-court seats, so the crowd tends to look a little denser. It would also depend a bit on which game you were looking at, the womens game with UTA didnt draw particularly well, but the Arkansas and Virginia Tech games did. The Tech game was part of a tournament, so there were fans from other schools there, as well.
Also, more than half the crowd for a mens game arrives after tip-off. They straggle in for the first 10 minutes of the first half, and often leave in the middle of the 2nd. So, trying to assess the crowd can vary depending on what stage the game is at.
The crowd for the womens game with Arkansas might have exceeded the crowd for some of the mens games, but I cant say definitively. That one was fairly close.
