Future Mustang Catherine Campbell

Senior Catherine Campbell became the schoolÃs all-time leading scorer and sophomore Stephanie Taylor broke the team record for steals in a game as the Katy High girls' basketball team routed Morton Ranch in both teams' district opener Tuesday night.
Campbell scored 18 points, hitting 7-of-10 field goals, to take over the all-time lead in points scored. She already has the school's career marks in rebounds and blocked shots and is bound for Southern Methodist University on a basketball scholarship next fall.
Taylor recorded a rare double-double with 17 points and a school-record 10 steals in just 23 minutes played as the Tigers turned up the defensive pressure on the first-year varsity Mavericks, holding them to a single basket in both the first and third quarters.
