Anyone have predictions for the rest of the season? I think we can seriously finish in the Top 3 in Conference USA, we have that much talent, we just have to come out to play every night.

After watching the Memphis-Gonzaga game tonight we are far below them. Sold out game, beating a top 10 team....

Umm, I have seen this team play and we should struggle but we have something on our side, this conference is atrocious. 19th nationally in RPI by conference which is horrendous considering Memphis fluctuates between number 1 and 2 by individual team rankings with Duke (for perspective the WAC sits at 9 like it does pretty much every year). UAB and the schizophrenic Houston are the only other two teams with RPI's below 100, and there is only one team in the 100-200 range (UTEP 183), and the rest of the conference is in the 238-296 range out of 325 D1 teams.
I dont think we are any good but the horrendous conference gives us an opportunity to finish in the Top 5. I just hope people do not see this as a sign of progress. We have played a cupcake non-conference schedule and the conference is even worse and we will barely finish above .500.
The only thing fun will be to see if Memphis can run the table in the conference and still might manage to drop out of a one seed for the tourny because their strength of scedule takes such a big hit playing in this league.

A .500 season is about as good as it gets IMO. We have a perfect storm brewing - no real dedication to D, suspect shooting - outside as well as free throw shooting, and an offensive scheme that is - shall we say - offensive. I think Tubbs better get focused on building a program for next year - schemes, players that fit those schemes, assistant coaches who can develop talent....................

This is a totally different team with Hop and Bamba - lots of different line up possibilities. We are not great but I see a more athletic team then last year. More fun too - Morris is a nice wide body, and when he and Bamba are in fun things will happen.
