It's getting ridiculous...

...the administration of SMU makes it difficult - beyond belief! - to be an SMU fan. During the football season, we're told that 'giving away' tickets on campus is 'prohibited'; now this!
I was at the SMU v TCU game tonight to support the Mustangs. I brought a small, handheld cowbell to ring at crucial moments - like when the Frogs were at the free throw line - and to ring after the Mustangs scored crucial shots.
Several minutes into the first half, I was ordered by a white-shirted security officer to stop ringing it. He said he was making this demand on behalf of Jim Osborne, assistant director for facilities & operations at Moody. Osborne apparently doesn't have the b*lls to do this himself; he sends a 'flunky'.
This 'flunky' said there's an NCAA rule that prohibits artificial noisemakers at athletic events. If that's the case, then someone better levee a fine against U.T. fans or Texas Tech fans or...(fill in any other school that uses artificial noisemakers in its fan base).
Apparently, making noise - of any kind - at an SMU athletic event is prohibited. It's like attending a golf tournament.
It's just ridiculous. I've had it.
