Although Blackistone wrote a nice article about Coach Tubbs in today's edition, this is getting ridiculous. There is not one mention of the Rice game tonight. As a matter of fact, I wasn't sure when we played Rice and had to look it up on SMUMustangs.com. The DMN doesn't even mention the game as being on radio. The radio schedule shows: Men:TT-OU, TAM-ISU, NTSU-Ark ST, Col St- TCU. Women: TCU-Col ST, NTSU-Ark St.

What in the hell is going on? Where is our Athletic Dept., SID, and the Marketing Dept? This is absurd!!!

Wait I perused the paper one more time. We made it!! Under ETC. AROUND THE AREA TODAY . Men's College Basketball Right there as big as life with Cedar Valley-Eastfield, Brookhaven-Richland, NorthLake-Mountain View, Nicholls State-UTA, E TX Baptist-AustinCollege, NE ST-TAM Commerce, Temple-Collin County, SW Christian-Grayson County, Rice-SMU, CSUTCU, TAM Kingsville-Tarleton St.

I knew that Big Jim and the boys weren't asleep at the switch. Well done guys![/b]

Well, the game is listed under the radio schedule, in the etc. and as a passing comment in the Blackistone article but that is it and you have to seach for it. We all know the DMN will only give very limited coverage to SMU unless it has a reason to do so, eg. a winning season or something bad happening. The fact SMU is the only local Div. 1 program is not relevant. That being said, the ball falls in our court. Don't we have a publicity budget? Don't we care if the general public or our alumnii know there is a game? Apparently not.

DMN sports dept. #214-977-8444. They are open from 1:00pm to midnight on Saturdays. If you don't like the way things are.......do something about it. The college sports editor's name is Mark.
