I am so confused....SMU is the only school on rivals that doesn't have anyone on their 06 recruiting class...how many high school seniors haven't made their decisions yet? I don't understand how we can lock up two juniors but don't have anyone for next year?

that's because they can't spell Menghe Nyam. You can follow his team at
www.newhampton.org/athletics/highlight But he could not be averaging in double figures.

So we have both Hopkins leaving - how many scholarships do we have?
Ritter is gone, there is another guy on the SMU poster who I have never heard of and have never seen for the 2005-2006 season.

what roster are you looking at? Ritter is still listed on the official website roster. I have no idea what the deal is with his status, but until someone officially leaves, I think we have 2 scholarships to give for '06 and only 1 remaining.
If Ritter does leave, we would have 2 spots to give in the signing period this spring.

Aren't basketball scholarships year to year?

technically I think you are right. At Texas Tech I think they are week to week. Generally you dont want to be a place that runs off players, that is not a good practice. SMU certainly has been pretty good about sticking with less than stellar performers over the years. That can hurt your competitiveness but its *usually* the right thing to do.

I am looking at the website, sure he's not listed gone, but I think it's safe to assume he won't be playing for SMU again.

I think just Brian and Ryan are gone....is Tubbs saving that last spot for Arthur? I don't get it I really think we don't have a chance at him. But who knows....
Arthur...

Hey we got Hopkins when no one thought we would, we could do the same for Arthur. Arthur has a lot of things going for him already if he stays in Dallas, he will get his minutes and the ball a lot. Therefore get to his orginial goal of getting to the NBA. He still has us as one of his final four choices, so yes we are definitely still in the game I think.

Are you sure? I remember an article being posted some time ago that quoted his mother as saying that SMU was no longer being considered...that it was Indiana,Kansas and Baylor.

Rivals still has us listed, so obviously we are still in it.

It was different with Hopkins though cause we were giving him something nobody else was, a bball scholarship for his brother, we don't have the same kind of incentive with Arthur.
