The McAllen Monitor did a pretty good story about the game, even had a nice photo of Devon Pearson.

Seems their coach got a little miffed with Killen reverse jamming after the clock had expired. I either missed this on the radio broadcast or it wasn't mentioned. The coach seemed really steamed about it though

Enjoy!

they need to shake that loss off because they got something called Utah Valley State coming up next on the schedule.

why the heck are we playing a home and home with these guys anyway? I realize Baylor's probation caused us to have to pickup a game, but if you have to do a home and home, why not get UNT or somebody?

Careful, Utah Valley State will be coming off a tough loss to Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. :D

On a more serious note, A&M-CC can compete in just about any basketball conference they want to. Some games of note:

11/26 @ Tulsa L 73-67
12/10 @ Missouri L 82-81
12/22 @ TCU W 55-49
1/7 @ Houston L 86-83 (2OT)

If only SMU could have these type of results when playing against more established basketball powers.

I think the more pertinent information is the fact that Killen actually jammed and got above the rim in a game :D

Don't dismiss A&M-CC too quickly -- unless I have them mixed up with someone else, I think they have three very athletic, active seven-footers. Not sure how they got them, but theire supposed to be a fast, huge team.

Nice article. Much better coverage than SMU gets at home.

Not even the score was given on the sports of local stations and the very brief Calvin story, sheesh. :?

Not sure how low-class you can call Killen, I mean he is what the 3rd PG, its not like B-Hop and Willingham were hooking up for an alley-oop after the clock expired.

If I could dunk, I would be doing it every time I got near a hoop. It is no different than a guy shooting a jumper right after a whistle. The coach sounds like Killen dunked the ball, then ran over and exposed himself to the coach's mother. Anyway, it's about time Killen learned that he's "gotta dunk that sh-t!"

I've seen them play this year. One of the seven-footers can't move down court. The second one is very good. The third one is 6'10" (close enough) and a freshman, but has the potential to be a good player in the future.

I've also seen SMU play this year and I will say this: A&M-CC would beat SMU *this year* 9 out of 10 times. But, if Bamba keeps progressing, that could change fast.
